My contract is about to expire and I was wondering if T-Mobile still offered a 1 year contract? I might be moving out of the country in a year for a job and T-Mobile doesn't have service there.

YOU CAN STILL GET A 1 YR. COMMITMENT WHEN YOU 1ST SIGHT UP AND WHEN YOU UPGRADE. IF YOU DO YOUR UPGRADE THROUGH MY-TMOBILE YOU ARE ONLY OFFERED PRICED ON THE 2 YR. COMM. CALL 611 AND ONE OF US CAN GO OVER THE 1 YR. PRICES WITH YOU. THEY ARE USUALLY $50 HIGHER THAN THE 2 YR. COMM. UPGRADE PRICE, DEPENDING ON WHEN YOU HAD YOUR LAST UPGRADE. THAT'LL GIVE YOU A LIL' BETTER IDEA WHAT KINDA COST TO EXPECT SO YOU CAN STILL SHOP FOR A NEW PHONE ON MY-TMOB AND JUST CALL IN WHEN YOU ARE READY.

You also don't have to renew a contract when it expires. When you current one expires, you go month to month--you continue to pay what you are paying now. That's why some people have great plans--they locked themselves into a great promotion and have continued to pay the same monthly rate because they have made no changes. Once you are on a month to month plan, you can cancel TMO any time you like when you move w/out paying the ETF. You might want to make sure you are on a month to month plan by the time you think you'll move. The only reason to renew your contract is if you want to change your plan or upgrade your phone at a subsidized price. Some promotions insist on 2 years though. Regular plans you can get for 1 year.
