G2/ Magic

While I love my G1, I will be definitely using the Magic/G2 as a back-up device. I'd like to hear what others' opinions are on the G1 vs. G2 saga that I am sure will follow shortly after the release of the G2.

Personally, sometimes I like the qwerty, usually when i am sitting still. But, I also enjoy the convenience of (and I know this is just....Wrong) being able to text with one hand, and drive with the other.

What do you guys think?

Personally I like the on screen keyboard for texting, and the physical keyboard for writing emails and stuff. I will be getting the G2 or possibly the other phone that you have been talking about joe

Well, keep you eye open, i will be uploading a few videos to CPS in the coming month or so, as well as to one more site thats not up and running yet. CPS gets my mystery phone video first, though.

some hackers are porting Magic ROM to G1 (not G2), and it worked
check out xda-developers - Powered by vBulletin (http://forum.xda-developers.com)
if this ROM has native tethering+root+wireless stereo+full bt support, I will go for it (get Dev 1 and put this ROM)

Interesting indeed.

I am so antsy to see this video it is driving me crazy :-) But no matter what it is, I am pretty excited for it. I'm glad we were the first to catch the Magic when it passed through the FCC

The thing about the Magic Rom is this... When they release the cupcake update for the G1, which i know as fact is coming about the same time as the G2 Release, no one will need the ported version of the G2 Rom. All of the same functionality will be available to the G1 natively. Since we will be getting this update no later than mid may, and as early as mid april, i think i will be holding off on applying the G2 Rom to my G1.

Joe, will this functionality allow for auto rotate? and stuff like that that the current rooted rom can do?
