hey guys.
so i was having a change of heart and wanted to jump onto sprint and their simply everything plan. My contract is up next month, less than 30 days, and I called into TMO just to talk about porting and the new ETF cancellation fees. Well after talkin to my CSR, which he seemed like a nice guy, he asked why i was considering sprint. I told him the unlimited mins, msgs, and data really sold me. So he then said to hold on because he had noticed a new promotion for customers like me (been with them for over 5 years) and he came back and MATCHED what sprint is offering. He produced a plan for me which i will detail below:
UNLIMITED MINS NATIONWIDE- *my previous plan has been regional, i.e. CA and NV.
UNLIMITED MSG, PIC, TEXT, VID
UNLIMITED DATA
TOTAL: $84.99/month.
Is this a good plan? Is it worth it? My plan now is in that area with 3000 mins and data. I also went with the Blackberry Curve 8900. What do yall think?
Has anyone else had this experience before? Input would be helpful. Thanks!

If you NEED "UNLIMITED" voice minutes (because you talk so much), and "UNLIMITED" messages (because you SMS/MMS so much), and "UNLIMITED" data (because you surf/download/upload so much), and you travel outside of your local calling region often, then YES, this is a very good plan for the money (provided T-Mobile coverage/signal strength/reception works acceptably for you AND you don't need 3G service everywhere you go).
However, if you could get away with going with a lower minute plan, and adding on SMS/MMS and Data Add-Ons for LESS money, then I'd probably choose that over this plan (why would I spend more if I don't need "UNLIMITED" minutes?). It's all up to you and your (and/or your family's) usage.
EDIT: Keep in mind that there are other carriers that offer similar "UNLIMITED" plans to T-Mobile's... for example, here's Boost Mobile's plan (in short):
BOOST MOBILE'S $50 UNLIMITED PLAN (IDEN)
UNLIMITED Nationwide Calling (NO more local calling areas)
UNLIMITED Text & Picture Messaging
UNLIMITED Mobile Web (non-EVDO, ~25kbps, NO tethering implied in Boost Mobile's Terms & Conditions (http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/02/17/boost-mobile-unlimited-plan-too-good-to-be-true/))
UNLIMITED Push-To-Talk
NO Conference Calls (as per Boost Mobile's Terms & Conditions (http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/02/17/boost-mobile-unlimited-plan-too-good-to-be-true/))
Call Waiting NOW INCLUDED (as of 2/17/09)
Voicemail IS INCLUDED
Runs off Sprint-Nextel's IDEN Network (NOT CDMA, cannot roam on CDMA or GSM networks!)
Must use Boost Mobile's IDEN Phone (NOT CDMA... maybe Nextel's IDEN phones if you are able to configure messaging, data, and PTT settings)
NO Phone Subsidies/Discounts
NO Contracts for Prepaid
$50/mo (inclusive of all fees EXCEPT state sales tax)
(Updated 2/20/09)

I agree with the above post - I really feel that the Unlimited plan is good for a business traveler or someone who cannot live without their phone. Most plans can be tweaked somewhat to give you something closer to what you NEED, not necessarily sticking to what you MIGHT NEED.
