Motorola RIZR 2 V8 - Sorry, no CNET review at this time.

Thanks to tmobile4life for this User Review for the Motorola RAZR 2 V8:

Pros:

-Very user friendly
-good music player
-best looking phone i have ever seen
-good battery life
-easy texting
-haptic technology(vibrates when button is pressed)
-great build, feels solid
-good speaker phone

Cons:
-fingerprint magnet, attracts smudges, always need a cloth to clean
-drops some calls on occasion(probably due to being from Hong Kong and being unbranded, may need software update

Motorola Rizr Z3 - Motorola Rizr Z3 (blue) Reviews. Cell Phones Reviews by CNET. (http://reviews.cnet.com/cell-phones/motorola-rizr-z3-blue/4505-6454_7-31987125.html?ar=o&tag=pdtl-list) http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/4042/motorolarizrz3ma4.jpg

Thanks to Christyxcore for this User Review for the Motorola Rizr:
Pros:
- Nice housing, doesn't feel cheap
- Pretty good pics taken with the camera
- Music player is pretty good, I haven't spent too much time with this part since I have a 30gb Creative Zen and don't need my phone for music, but from what I tried out for a little, it's easy to navigate and the audio quality is pretty decent for a phone
- SMS is pretty decent, I text a lot and have had no problems typing with the keypad. But I have pretty small fingers. Maybe it's a little harder for others with bigger fingers (i'm little lol) but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. And the keypad is like the RAZR's but feels better to type on, IMO.
- Reception is good, if you are in an area with good TMo coverage then this phone should do fine for reception. If you're in an area with a bit more spotty coverage, then you should get the 5300, since nokias have great reception (you should know this from your 6030)
- Slide is solid and not wiggly (though my replacement wiggles a bit when closed but that is because the stupid UPS guy dropped the box because there's a gate in front of my door)

Cons:
- Menu can be a bit slow (though a software upgrade should help it out)
- Motorola software can be buggy (I know this from personal experience >.>)
- um, that's all I can think of for now..

Samsung SGH-T639 - http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/310/sght639qm6.jpg

Thanks to Greenblood for this User Review for the Samsung SGH-T639: http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/310/sght639qm6.jpg

the phone looks nice, with several faceplates
if you don't like them, you can get R500 (CDMA version), R500 accessories will work with T639
reception: it's not good as 6120 and K790, but not that bad
call quality: very good and clear, even with 2-4 bars
screen: large, with lower res. (176x220) texts are pretty easy to read, and it's bright; external screen is monochrome, shows clock when it's idle
keypad: easy to press, more comfortable than 6120 and K790
internet: the internal browser is slow, it takes at least 4 seconds to load t-zones and open other wap sites; NO streaming audio and video support
music player: not tested
cam: not tested
bt: my host computer shows DUN, serial port, file transfer, object push after pairing
3rd party apps: no go (unable to dl google maps, cert error)
will test tethering tomorrow
here are pics

I have had this phone for 2 weeks now and her is my review

Pros:

-beautiful screen
-very good call quality
-super quick menu
-Very user friendly
-good music player
-best looking phone i have ever seen
-good battery life
-easy texting
-haptic technology(vibrates when button is pressed)
-great build, feels solid
-good speaker phone

Cons:
-fingerprint magnet, attracts smudges, always need a cloth to clean
-drops some calls on occasion(probably due to being from Hong Kong and being unbranded, may need software update

Overall:
An excellent phone, definitely a trend setter, everyone i show it to seems to like it and say its my best phone Ive had(owned 17 phones since 2003)

I intend on getting rid of the phone when T-mobile lanuches it in sept-oct, that way i will have the 2gigs of memory, and all the software updates will be done

Hey guys, I'm happy to make this a sticky if you guys are ok with me removing all the comments and just leaving this thread as a reviews ONLY thread...

I know that alot of people myself included hate weeding through peoples comments while searching for reviews...

Thoughts?

ssassy01d

That would be fine with me:) Just put a rule at the top of the thread that states that its for REVIEWS only and that comments should be directed to the main forum.

So I guess everyone will just need to PM me their User Review if they have any, so I can add them.

Actually that wouldn't be a bad idea either, the Mods could add that note to the top of the thread , therefore people would know right off that if they have a phone review, to PM you to submit it.

Yeah, I have that in my signature, but I guess nobody has really noticed it.

Well I'm sure people have noticed it, maybe its just because that the primarily "active' people here don't have anymore just yet. This forum is still quite "young" the more traffic and registrations you get, the more people will add to the reviews , that have experience with other phones, plus maybe some people just dont feel they'd give an adiquate review, I myself have two Nokia 6101's which I absolutely love, I"m just not savvy enough to write a review for it. They'll come, just be patient.:)

I can offer a review on the Samsung X-495! I have one that's been dropped, kicked, sat on, backed over with a truck( I did NOT do this stuff to it myself), is being held together with electrical tape, has been dropped in a creek, etc. and believe it or not it actually still works pretty good! For a low end Samsung, that is very impressive!!! Still won't give up my Razr though.

That's a good thing. All the damage to the X-495 was purely accidental. Needless to say the phone's user is NOT allowed to touch my Razr. I fear it would not hold up quite so well.

That's a good thing. All the damage to the X-495 was purely accidental. Needless to say the phone's user is NOT allowed to touch my Razr. I fear it would not hold up quite so well.

Yeah, I would not want them to touch my phone either! lol
:D
