I have been told and have seen on HTCWiki.com that a loop hole lets the $5.99 T-Mobile Web (previously T-Zones) operate no different than the $29.99 Int. Add-On as long as you set up a proxy server. Can anyone elaborate on this a little for me? And steps on the proxy set up?
I currently am using the BB Add-on for my Dash, $10 less a month and set up,operation, everything is same as Total Add-on. Hoping to move that $10 savings up to a $24 savings.

I've heard mixed results with the $5.99 plan. It appears that T-Mobile is trying to lock down the $5.99 plan and force smartphone users onto the $29.99 plan.

try it and see if it works for you.
To setup the internet connection over T-MobileWeb follow these instructions:
1. Add the $5.99 T-MobileWeb service to your current voice plan (it may take up to 72 hours to activate, but typically takes less than 24 hours).
2. Follow the below instructions to setup the Dash:
Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> Proxy -> T-Zones Proxy setup
Connects from: WAP Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy (name : port): 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> GPRS-> T-Mobile Data
Connects to: WAP Network
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

Start Menu -> Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Options -> Connections
"Automatically detect settings" is unchecked
Select network: The Internet (Must be set to "The Internet" to work over WiFi. Try "WAP Network" if you're having trouble over the EDGE/GPRS connection)
Start Menu -> Messaging -> Options -> Account Settings
Network: WAP Network

In my area, I've never had to use proxy settings with T-Zones. I started with it back in January and haven't had any major disruption.

Wirelessly posted (Dell X50v and/or SE K790a: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows XP; PPC; 640x480))
I have grandfathered internet from very first day of my contract, and I always think it's a steal by my usage (more than 1GB a month)
