At my job, I get really spotty service. It's annoying cause I drop a lot of calls. Ive been thinking about buying a wireless booster. Do you think something like this would work? Cell Phone Signal Booster antenna (http://www.skinz.org/phone/cell.html)

Ya know, I always thought they were a croc, but there a package of 1 booster stuck inside something else I had ordered form ebay so I decided to try it in my Dash. I gotta say, it doesn't hurt any. I have poor service inside my house normally getting just a little square of service, not even the 2nd bar and after putting the booster under my battery, it's helped. It's not gonna work any miricales though. it moved me up to a solid 2nd bar which is better than i did have. The instructions said if you can fit 2 of them under your battery to go ahead and do so. I'm thinking about getting another 1 to add and see how much more it helps. I don't know too much more about them but I found them cheapest on ebay. Here's a place to get started: eBay – cell phone, nokia and motorola items on eBay.com. Find IT on eBay. (http://cell-phones.listings.ebay.com/_Accessories-Parts_Antenna)

I would like to find an antenna that I can put on top of a car and plug it into my phone to get a better signal. I have not seen any that will work for my phone. I do not even think there is a place to plug it in.

If it really helped, I think T-Mobile would offer them for sale. The fact that they don't offer them tells me that they probably don't help much, unless you have a loose battery cover that needs a space filler.

dont buy those things. how on earth could a little piece of metal on your battery help the signal. its not even touching any part of the phones antenna. and dont you think if something this small would make a difference every phone manufacturer would have them come included with your phone. those things are a joke. DO NOT BUY THAT CRAP.

Oh, youre prolly going to have to try a different phone, IIRC there is no coax connector on that model. All Motos have an external antenna access port, Im not sure about Nokia. Kinda ironic IMO, the phones that need them the most dont have them ;) If you do need exceptional RF, I would look at a Nokia bar phone, followed closely by the Moto Razr or Pebl.

on a gsm fone i dont think they make a difference for the fones reception, but for the bluetooth it make a little bit of a difference, when ur paiered to ur computer etc... on older iden fones they make the world of difference. the repeaters that you can mount on ur car, im not sure how they would work with gsm fones, but again like the older iden fones my experience has been great with them. if u ask 10 diff people ur gonna get 10 diff answers on this subject. i put one of them in my razr to test out the range of my bluetooth and it did let me go a few yards farther. but as for the receptioin of the fone, i get great reception without it so i couldnt tell a diff. in my opinion, they must have to work to a point or they wouldnt be on sale in stores etc... best bet would be to ask a truck driver, you can find these stickers at most truck stops along with the plug in aentennas, and repeaters. youll also get them cheaper there then at a local store. also if u decide to test for urself, just make sure you have a full battery or ull prolly have goofy results.
