Login required to view subscribed thread emails

I'm on quite a few forums, but have never seen the need to login before viewing a new reply to a subscribed post...What gives?

I just opened two reply notifications, one for this thread, another for the theme requests. This one opened up after clicking the link, however the theme thread asked me to login...

The theme thread is for registered members only. This is why it prompted you to register.
