Has anyone had trouble with adding the Mobile 2 Mobile service for Families when selecting a new MyFaves for Families plan at tmobile.com? I can add Unlimited Texting for Families, but not Mobile to Mobile. The M2M option doesn't appear as an option like it used to.

I've called T-Mobile about the issue already, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Dallas

I was on the site looking for information about upgrading to a family plan. It shows that unlimited m2m is included in the MyFaves. I called to confirm and I was told that it is indeed included now. I've been looking at the 1000 min plan, so that's all I can really confirm. The site seems a little confusing but this is what I found:

"Share time with your family, and talk to your favorites! This plan gives you 1000 Whenever Minutes® to share between two phone lines, plus unlimited any-network calls to the five numbers you call most—and everyone can choose their own Fave 5. You also get unlimited night, weekend, and T-Mobile to T-Mobile calling. Up to three additional lines are just $9.99 each."

I did check the other family faves and they all show unlimited m2m as well. The rep was saying that basically people were complaining that they had to use their faves to call people in their own family plan (I personally would be pretty irritated by that) ...so voila now myfaves includes m2m, she said this also means that if your home phone is tmobile@home, you get unlimited calls to home as well..that would free up a fave for me. Hopefully they keep it that way *smile*

Great news--It always did bug me that you didn't get M2M with My Faves...I'm paying $9.99 for m2m for families, so new price makes sense.

Thanks for that clarification :)

M2M is included with new Family myFaves, essentially making what was an add-on mandatory and not discounting the price.

How you can add M2M with a grandfathered Family myFaves that did not include it, I'm not sure. Perhaps you will be allowed to switch to one of the mandatory M2M plans w/o extending your contract.

Ok, so I'm not crazy the price for the 1000 plan is higher??? I've been looking into it for a while and yesterday, after checking for the above information, I did the math over again. Just to add my daughter (ie:change from an individual faves 1000 to a family faves 1000) it is going to cost $30 more plus another $10 for her messaging (I have the unlimited messaging for $9.99, they said for family it is $19.99). Basically I have to pay $40 more for her to have her 5 people and unlimited messaging. I don't know about you guys...but where I live I can get her an unlimited everything plan with another company for $45. It used to not be worth it because you were stuck with their crappy phones that cost a fortune. Now you can bring sprint and verizon phones over and they will enable it to work on their network. (I've checked you can pick them up pretty cheap on ebay, craigslist, yardsales)

So much for being happy about the M2M :^|

Yes, T-Mobile has essentially made myFaves a $20 add-on for families in comparison to the FamilyTime plans that already included M2M.

From the customer's point of view, M2M and myFaves should be add-ons, but don't hold your breath.

I'm not sure if I followed that (could be lack of sleep) are you saying it is $20 more for a myfaves family plan than a regular family plan? They told me when I called it would be $20 more to switch from my current plan individual myfaves 1000 to a family myfaves 1000. I seriously talked to someone last week about it, at which time she told me that the M2M was now included! Now, according to the site, it is actually $30! (and i'm sure there is an activation fee!) I was finally starting to feel a little warm and fuzzy about TM...but the feeling is gone :^(

Before, the Family myFaves plans cost $10 more and didn't include M2M, which was a $10/month add-on. Now, they've basically made M2M mandatory and didn't reduce the price of the add-on.

The difference between FamilyTime and Family myFaves is the myFaves feature, $20 -- and .05 for overages.

If you have a locked AT&T phone... forget it. I tried to unlock a Sony Ericsson I had with them and they wouldn't do it. You can try, but I highly doubt you will get help from AT&T about unlocking your phone. You should either get a phone from T-Mobile, they should have given you one for sure... or try to unlock it yourself.

I'm an indirect AT&T agent, and I know for a fact the is either going to give you hours of trouble trying to get the unlock code for the phone (or not give it to you at all). If this happens, just go to Horizon Wireless and they'll give you the unlock code for a one time fee.
