G1 pre-order status...

I was wondering if there was a way to check your pre-order status? I pre-ordered back on like the 25th of Sept but I was headed out of town and in a hurry so I didn't print the confirmation screen. I was just looking through my old e-mails and I didn't find anything in there either. I have had a couple friends tell me that they got e-mails recently saying that they wouldn't be getting theirs on the 22nd and it has got me worried. I am probably just going to end up calling customer service, but I would rather just check something online.

Call customer service and ask to get your confirmation number for your order. It's the only way to find it, as there is no way to check it online. As far as I know, no emails were sent out to anybody with confirmation numbers. Some got texts, others did not. I ordered one for my wife, and one for myself, and only on her number did I get a text. I called to verify both orders, and got separate numbers for them.

if you call 611 from your phone say "order tracking" it will give you status

Hello All,

I ordered 2 G1 phones on September 30th and called today to check the order status by calling 611 and it said that my order is on back order. Does that mean that I will not have my phones by October 22nd like I was told?

It will say Back Order because it is not available to ship...

As soon as it ships it will say a tracking number or estimated arrival date...

I expect them to ship Monday the 20th and some will receive on the 21st...

Seems as though they started shipping some out already. On another site, people have been reporting shipping, with arrivals on Friday! Of course, mine hasn't shipped yet. Looks as though they are now doing west coast and northeast deliveries for now.

can you still use the G1 with out the data plan if there is no 3g network where i live

Justin, as far as I know, T-Mobile has made it clear that a data plan must be added to the G1 to use it. Even though you are not in a 3G area, you will still be able to use Edge on the street, and wifi in the home if that's the route you want to take.
