So I just received my HTC Touch Pro today and I must say... JAW DROPPING WOW!

The thing is lightning fast! The interface is smooth. The screen resolution is super sharp and crystal clear! Thing is beautiful.

I got it, charged it up and went to town.

Inserted SIM card and my MicroSD Card and powered up.

The setup was a breeze (just like my previous HTC Cruise). It automatically detected T-Mobiles settings and I was ready for calls and internet browsing. Set up my email.

Thing is pretty wicked. The keyboard is super easy to type on and I am already quick on it my first night.

Web browsing is awesome. It will load full web pages and you can move them around like on the iphone and just as smooth if not smoother when panning.

The acceleromiter is sweet, changes perspective pretty quickly when applicable. And the ball game is pretty fun too! The thing really feels weighted during the game!

Now just have to wait and see how and if the 3G could work on it...

The G1 seems to only have 2 3G frequencies, 1900 / 2100. And I believe this has the 2100 as well. So hopefully I will be able to use 3G. If not, I have a G1 on the way as well.

Ill post up pix later, in the mean time I;m going to continue playing with it!

Thanks for the mini review! I've been curious about this phone for a while now, but with all the goodness coming out soon, I could only choose one. So, the G1 it is. Pics are always a good thing, and hands on are even better. keep us informed!

well this is where I keep going back and forth... I may even end up cancelling the auction if i miss the phone enough....

I officially found out today that the 3G wont work... The net is pretty fast on the phone loading full web pages... but not as fast as the 3G iphones I have seen.. scrolling through the pages is really nice on the phone...

I mean dont get me wrong... I absoultly love the phone... but I just would really like the speed of the 3G network...

Im still going back and forth...

for now, my HTC Touch Cruise is in the box waiting for the bidder to pay (been almost a week)...

I am using my HTC Dash for now..

Touch Pro sitting pretty in its box...

Yeah, just in case there's any confusion, T-Mobile's 3G network will ONLY work with T-Mobile branded phones and this will likely be the case for the foreseeable future. Being #4 in the US means that T-Mo only gets a small chunk of the wireless spectrum. They're stuck with the 1700 MHz AWS frequency range, which is basically the redheaded stepchild of the cellular industry. At the moment, no other markets have data networks on this frequency so you can't buy an unlocked european phone and use it on T-Mobile's 3G network. Their 1900 MHz GSM network is still alive and well which is why you can make calls and browse at GPRS/EDGE speeds with unlocked euro phones.

T-Mobile uses 1700/2100 for 3G...

no other provider uses those bands in the US
