View Full Version : Why I'm not on T-Mobile Signal more...

In case anyone is wondering why I'm not posting as much as I used to on T-Mobile Signal, my laptop's LCD went out last week, and I'm waiting for a replacement part to arrive so I can "attempt" to fix it. Currently my laptop is on a table in about 15 different pieces (not counting the screws), so I can't be online as much as I was before. Once the part arrives, hopefully the "operation" will be a success (haven't really done this before on a laptop, so we'll see). Otherwise I'll be ordering a new computer and won't be on TMS until THAT gets here and gets set up... :(

oops!
sorry to hear that
I think you're still possible to come through your phone (wap version, or regular if your phone is "powerful" like my K790)

working on a laptop is not any different than working on a desktop... it's just a much smaller form factor. hopefully all you need is a part swap.

and yes, you can still post on here via your phone... just use the wap site: http://www.t-mobilesignal.com/mobile

Yes, that is true, but it's a PAIN going through either WAP or Opera Mini on my V3 no matter HOW fast a site is... especially since RAZR V3's don't have EDGE, only GPRS.

Plus, even when I do visit, I really don't post unless I "have to" via phone, since it's painfully slow for me if I don't have a QWERTY keyboard.

That would be something I would enjoy doing, as long as it's not my laptop that is, lol. I love tinkering with and fixing computers. :)

I'm gonna guess it's not a ThinkPad...they're a breeze to work with. LCD swap is one of the most time intensive jobs (next to a complete disassembly). Just make sure you take note of where the screws go.

you should try sonyericsson phone
the t9 is alot better, you can make a combo if t9 can't make a single words
e.g. you can key 7669(press right on d-pad)37427766 to make sonyericsson

no matter how bad feedback on Dell, I am happy with Inspiron 6000d, and it's still strong after 2 years (just the DVD recorder died, and I had to upgrade anyway)

I'm happy to report the "operation" was a success (no leftover screws or anything... YAY!). :D

And yeah, it was a Dell. I've actually been happy with Dell for the most part. I still have an extremely old Inspiron 7000 that works just fine (needed a motherboard swap and hard drive swap in the past, but all under warranty). This was my second laptop, a Latitude C640, that needed the "surgery" (never needed any replacements before).

At any rate, I may keep my eyes open for a good deal on a 3rd laptop... just in case... ;)
