Well, don't know if this is real or not, but according to the BoyGenius, T-Mobile is going to have a promotion on July 3rd, where you have to be at one of the T-Mobile chosen T-Mobile Direct stores in a "robe". Thats right a robe. If you are one of the first 100 customers in the store with a robe, they will give you a free phone, router, and a full year of service. Plus, local radio stations will be at the selected T-Mobile stores.

This is confirmed. Unfortunately my store is not on the list but the reps who attended the "official" training received dark red robes.

That will be so embarrassing. But, you have to be one of 100 who come there in a robe, then they will add it to your account, or give you a new line with the service?

I wonder how many people will do it, and how early do they have to be in front of the store.

What do they mean by a year of service? If someone does not currently have a plan and goes there can they get free service? Does it just mean that you won't get charged the $19.99 per month over the current plan?

Ohhh man I'll be out of town. Otherwise I would be all for this!
Thanks for the post though. Nice find!

Can you wear clothing under the robe? It would be pretty easy to shove a robe into a bag and take a ride into the city, then put the robe on when you get there. People wear stranger clothing at the beach all the time! ;-)

I would hope so.

That's what I'm wondering. If I was in the market for a new line, I would totally consider driving to LA for this. Fortunately (or unfortunately), I'm not. :p

This would be a perfect day to come into the store advertising t-mobilesignal...you'd get a ton of attention! Oh, and remember to take pictures or create a video to enter the contest!

we have a robe sitting in the back room.

it's supposed to depict the advertisement character: "jimmy" as the "hotspot guy"

you'll see the employees participating in this advertisement campaign in jeans and a hotspot tshirt for about a week or so.

hooray for the jeans.

Agreed and I will be the one in the robe and believe me since i'm the little joker don't be surprised if I upload a picture of me wearing my boxers outside my jeans for a day or two just to see if anyone really pays attention.

Absolutely hooray for the jeans, employees will be wearing Jimmy t-shirts and in Jeans from June 27th - July 7th.

I have not heard anything about specific requirements for this though I haven't really been keeping up with our internal stuff lately. I imagine at 16 there isn't alot we could do because you have to be 18 for an account.

I wonder if the store reps will advertise this promotion. I would like to come there and nobody is there to compete for this.

For the people that get this, who will sell theirs?

I wonder if T-Mobile will tie this to your current account, or give u a seperate SIM card with a separate account.

For a free phone and a year of service I would stand in line naked. I'm out on my balcony every morning in a robe so that is not a big deal.
