hey guys, today the FCC just passed the new samsung i770... well, there was a version on 2006 (gsm). Samsung Pocket PC Phone Leaked By FCC (Phone Scoop) (http://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=1725)
However, this version is a dual band GSM ( 850 and 1900), CDMA (Edvo) and WiFi..
maybe some american carrier can carry this....

isn't cricket a CDMA provider, but they have a few phones that support the GSM frequencies. I had a sprint phone that supported both, but the GSM side only worked over sea's.....

Maybe it will be a T-mobile/Sprint phone if the buyout goes through.

that is true.. normally we see phones with cdma and gsm but with bands like 800 and 1800 but, not 1900 or 850..

if this buyout happens, DT will have the largest market in US
but this action is pretty risky, though T-Mobile really wants spectrum and fiber backbone
Sprint is still in bad shape, acquiring may need to payoff beaucoup amount of debt, and DT needs to take care of Nextel customers too

I would be surprised to see a buyout of Sprint happen.
I also would have to say that I don't think DT would want the trouble - right now Sprint doesn't have the best brand.

I suspect it's a Verizon phone - they already have the Blackberry 8830 which is CDMA/GSM

But their GSM is 900/1800 to work in other parts of the world, not the USA.

Yep, in the US you use Verizon's CDMA network, outside the US you're on an international network. That way Verizon can provide service to their customers world-wide rather than losing that revenue for it's traveling customers.

This phone we are talking about has on both GSM/CDMA 850/1900, not 900/1800 that Verizon's phone use. This would not be used for international roaming but national roaming.
