Sidekick 3 Question

Recently, I recieved a text message on my Sidekick 3 and in my inbox it is in italics. However, when I open the message, it shows a little box with the ball going back and forth. It's almost as if it is downloading something. Does anyone know what's happening?

its downloading the message. which is probably pretty long, well atleast 2 text messages put together. get what im saying?

Yeah, it's downloading the message. I had that happen to me a few times when I used my SK3.

hmm..ok heres another sidekick 3 question, or a couple atleast... Whats the deal on a used sk3? can it be reused by another person if its sold? i researched and seems that the data portion would be locked from what i read. im thinking about getting a used one extremly cheap. I know u cant use 3rd party apps which sux, unless u get a developers key, to unlock it. but as far as dropping another prepay sim in it, i read that the only thing id be able to do is voice only. How true is all of this? I was playing around with a deactivated one and it really didnt appeal to me to a point, seems that ur only real benifit is the full inet access for the buck a day...the camera seems ok and also the memory card. I may just stick with my razr v3 for the time being, but if theres some other good benifits im missing please let me know. i may just get it anyways for the web access and im though, if it will work being used...like i was saying i heard that danger locks it to the original user on their servers and wont release it...


Edit: ok found out the answers already, i could use a used sidekick, i called tmo, and they said i could either buy a new sim kit or a new fone and use the prepay simkit from it and activate a new sidekick account, or use my existing prepay sim and just swap over the imei # from the sk3 to my account, then id get the buck a day for everything etc... and 15c a min talk. or i could by using the diffrent simkit just start a seperate sk3 account under my name. which is prolly what ill end up doing... have my razr as my talk fone and the sk3 as my web, email , im etc... but i still would like to know what kida apps i could use on the sk3, i mean what do they have in their catalog for d/l....etc

from what i read on google i should be able to use my prepay sim without xfering it to a sk3 plan and just use the fone and regular txt msgs right? i know the web and email wouldnt work unless i switched to the sk3 plan...i just wanna see how well the reception and sound quality is before i go out and buy me another sim etc and activaste it...i think my razr is ready to take a poo poo on me lol, if it does then id prolly just switch the sim to sk3 plan even though id be loosing my gold rewards...etc

Dash is a much better experience for web browsing than a SK3. Not only that, but with WiFi, you wouldn't need to pay for internet, as long as there is WiFi in the area you can connect and through WiFi its much faster than any SK. And Pocket Internet Explorer on the Dash can accept and format more pages than the SK browser, so the internet browsing experience is a bit taken away on an SK compared to a Dash.

You know, i think loveblast would be the one to ask this, he's the SK man apparently, i found a couple of things i didn't know about SKs until he clarified a few things.

ok kool, then i may just xfer the sim for fone and txt msging... then just go dataplan l8tr on when i get another sim...

i been using my sk3 for awhile now without the dataplan and seems the only real thing im loosing compared to when using my other fones, is that i dont have tzones, but i can still use #999# to check my bal, and 233 to add money etc... all the minor things i been doing with the sk3 makes me wanna go with a dash, bb, or a linux smartfone... i use the sd card for carrying around my portable slackware, which definatly has its benifits... the only thing i really noticed was if my battery runs dead, i have to reset the date and time upon charging, cause without the dataplan it doesnt auto update... and if i did a hard reset it prolly wouldnt update the firmware until i went with the dataplan... anyways, it definatly does work if ya need a backup fone just incase urs takes a dump ya know... :)

ok heres a sk3 question... im gonna call up in a bit and add the data plan, so i already cleared the previous user login info, now do i actually need to clear the flash? or does it really matter? wont that remove my 3.4 update? i dont have another fone to call tmo cs from atm thats why i wanna take care of all of this beforehand ya know... also when i cleared the login info upon reboot it didnt ask me to add another one im assuming that will popup when i actually add the dataplan, but i now have the option to edit it manually. even if having to clear the flash does remove my 3.4 update, it should automatically redownload and install it correct? when i called cs they said id have to call from another fone cause theyd have to reboot the fone to clear all the previous info etc... since it was a used one, but if i can do everything before i call that would be convienient on my half...
