Hi! There's some changes happening behind the scenes, some of these we've launched and others are becoming visible so I'd like to fill you in on what's happening. Nwahs implemented a fresh new "Expert" program where members can be recognized for their know how. There's a new forum feature where you can Thank someone for a helpful post with the push of a button. You've also might have noticed we broke out the T-Mobile forums from the rest of the pack so they have their own spot at the top of the forum listings.

Maybe you can see where this is going... CPS is putting the focus back on T-Mobile. Getting back to our roots! You'll see a new logo and slogan at the top left, "Connecting T-mobile users", and that's what we're committed to doing. There will still and always will be discussion and information about all cell phones and carriers, but we'd like for CPS to be a special home on the net for the T-mo team. Your "go to" place when you want to find out the latest and greatest happenings with T-Mo and other major carriers.

One of things you might notice that has changed is the "Carrier Competition", it was a great feature and unique to CPS. However it no longer matches the goals for the community, and thus it has been removed. RIP Carrier Competition!

There's still quite a bit to come, we'll keep you updated as we launch new features, site additions, and maybe even a forum competition or two! :D

Feel free to let me know if there's anything you would like to see here on CPS or feedback on the forum. I love hearing what we can do to make your experience more enjoyable.

In our effort to become a T-Mo focused community, we've adopted the T-Mo style throughout the forum. :)

Dunno, whatever it was before when Alex made these styles. I could find out the hex code if you'd like.

There were no changes made to the skin other than making it the default layout for the site.

The focus is on Tmo, that doesn't mean we won't be discussing other carriers. There's plenty to talk about and we have very knowledgeable people here who are experts or loyal enthusiasts of them. :)

I went ahead and merged the thread with the announcement so that it would be clear to those reading why there have been several recent changes. :) HTHS!

Wow! I was shocked to visit the forum and see all the changes. I have to say, I'm sad that you gave up on the Carrier Stats. I really believe it could have been great. Oh well! I have to say...the logo isn't my cup of tea though. The old one was much better. I'd switch the logo back to the pink cellphonesignal logo. Anyway, I'll keep dropping in from time to time. I'm curious to see what changes await this site in the future.

I personally would like to see use different colors for other carriers, and keep magneta on others

Back to the T-Mobile roots is a good thing, since that was a major appeal to this site. I personally, prefer the original CPS logo, but its just a logo, so no biggie. Hope things continue to be successful here!

Anyway, I still think we need something to fill the space where the stats were, seems too plain there now :(

I know that you're probably trying to keep an identity or something for the site - but I think it would be nice to be able to change out the theme every now and again. The magenta is cool and all, but it can be a bit much at times.

Second that. Just because I wear the color all day, and coming home to see more of it. Eh...

Agreed, I would also like to see specific carrier colors as well. The magenta is a bit much on the eyes, and defers other users from visiting the forum.

I liked the old site...better. If you were to change...I'd switch back to T-MobileSignal.com.

So, if an administrator can't do that....then who can?

I'm not saying that change should be made - it hasn't even been in its current configuration for all that long. Now I haven't been around here for very long, but if you are trying to come up with some kind of site identity that's going to be rather difficult to do if it keeps changing.

Well, the site's goal has changed a bit. Where the site started out as a Tmobile blog and then had a change in course to try and cover all cell carriers, we are now focusing more on Tmobile once again. Thus you see all the recent changes.

MysticTrust & ArcAngel

This forum was started out as a place for T-mobile users. It gain lots of new members and everyone likes it. But Alex decided that he wants more people to join and end up changing it to a general forum for all of the cell phone users. BIG MISTAKE! There was lots of people that were against the new change including me. So the forum that was gaining popularity end up going downhill because lots of members end up leaving including me.

Alex & Janice

I am glad to see that you realized that you made a mistake and you decided to change it back. I hope you bring the name back too.

I hope it's not too late to get this forum active again like it was before.

I'm not sure there was a realization there was a mistake TBH. Being new to the administrative team I was informed of the changes over CPS's life span, how the community was founded as a TMo "fan" and information sharing site and then branched off into something larger. After spending time on the forum and speaking with the staff who were still involved I came to the realization that what was really needed was a move back to a TMo focused site. The former name won't be used again, unfortunately. :(

I hope it's not too late to get this forum active again like it was before.

With your help and the interest and assistance of other forum members we CAN do it. :) We just have to believe in it.

I agree that the changes were for the better. However, as knytphal pointed out, its important to be consistent in appearance as well. Changing the name may not be a good idea, but how about linking both tmobilesignal.com and cellphonesignal.com to the same domain?
Just a thought.

Lee

I will work on that right away.

t-mobilesignal.com does forward to CPS and I will make sure tmobilesignal.com (with the dash) does the same.
