I have the BB Curve and I know on the BB browser I am able to browse the web for free via WIFI which is important for me as I work in a building that has no cellphone signal but does have WIFI.
My question - other than the BB's, do any of the UMA phones have a browser I could use to browse over WIFI?
Also - am I able to sync my contacts with my pc with any of these phones? It's not as important would would make life a LOT easier.

I don't think any of T-mobile's non-smartphones have Wifi in them

well..they have wifi...just the question is, is the wifi useable? lol which brings me to my next curious question....why don't t-mobile phones have a wap browser...like...you can't enter in a webiste on a t-mobile phone can you?(i don't know 100% because I've never had a non-smartphone, but I used someone's t-zones and i couldn't figure out how to end in an address)
I am pretty sure the UMA WiFi dumb phones are for calls only. No WiFi browsing.

the samsung @home phones , only the wifi works for uma, not for browsing. completely different as bb or other smart phones.. so, nokia and samsung uma capables , the wifi is only for calling.

try them out at a t-mo store.
the test phones i used during the UMA beta test all allowed wi-fi browsing.

Just to clarify things:
You can browse the internet on every wi-fi capable (UMA) phone that T-Mobile offers, but there's a difference.
Smart Phones:
With the smart phones, you can browse the wi-fi connection as though it were a true wi-fi... such as a hotspot with your laptop. You can also use it for UMA. The nice thing about this is that in a lot of free hotspots, they have you click "I agree" before you're allowed to use their service. With the BB's/Smartphones, you can do this and get UMA service.
Regular (Dumb) Phones:
On the other hand, with the regular phones, you can still surf the web, but it's through the t-zones gateway. It's still faster because it's going over wi-fi, but it's through a VPN tunnel to the t-mobile servers and acting like a regular t-zones over edge connection. You CANNOT surf the web without t-zones. For example, with a wi-fi hotspot that requires you to click "I agree", you CANNOT do this because it will not browse as just a standard wi-fi device.
There's your technical difference... so I think as you were asking the question, then no, the dumb phones cannot.
