Effective Friday, June 22, through Tuesday, July 17, a new national advertising campaign will alternate between two offers:
Nokia 5300 for $49.99 after rebates
Buy one Nokia 6133 for $29.99 and get a second handset free after rebates

straight from the horses mouth.

5300 launched in 2005 right?

I have considered the 5300, as I am eligible for a partial upgrade. I may have to spring for the 5300. I don't qualify for the mail-in rebate, but it looks like I could get the phone for about $100 without the rebate. If only it could use Opera Mini...

Nope. It launched earlier this year. I think it was somewhere between March and May. It's this one ->Nokia 5300 (http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Detail.aspx?device=03e32d1d-b4e8-4de1-a5fc-01b1f8bbf3f4).

EDIT: Did some research and looks like the 5300 launched in late February.

All prices are for new customers or "qualified" upgrading customers I'm guessing...

I heard unbranding the 5300 makes it about 100x better. I was thinking about getting it but ended up not. If it is that cheap though...I might go for it now.

I have never unbranded a phone. Are there places where I can mail a phone to get it flashed with the unbranded firmware?

I may pick up 5300 if the no-contract price is decent
I have the tool to change the "product code" of nokia BB5 phones (not Phoenix, it's 3rd software)
the question is: what is Hong Kong version 5300 product code?
once I got it, I'll get it
QVGA screen is nice

I can't wait to get home and try this out. I thought the 5300 had some potential, so I bought one and was pretty disappointed, I hope this improves it!
