Cingular switching to AT&T

What do you think about the name switch? Don't you feel AT&T spent way too much money on marketing Cingular to just change the name now? I feel it was a total waste of money!

The name change doesn't matter to me one way or another. My decision to go with one wireless carrier over another, is always based on the coverage and service that I receive from them, and not what they name their network.

I see some newly opened Cingular stores, I just wonder why the stores are not renamed

AT&T Wireless is gone (another company). The New AT&T (a.k.a. at&t, AT&T, or AT&T Mobility as they put on their bills) is here to stay (until they decide to change their name again).

The Rep. at the at&t store that I was in this weekend said that the name of the store will be the last change to occur. From what I can see right now, their focus seems to be on rebranding their handsets and the brochures that are in the stores.

I've worked for sbc in the past. There is no way in heck i will ever buy a product from att or from anything remotely related. Some of us called DSL "Doesn't Seem Likely" when i worked in chicago north.

I think SBC, Bellsouth, and AT&T are stupid. Cingular spend mad money just to merge with AT&T wireless, and scam their customers into believing their would have SUPERIOR coverage by them merging. The Rollover is a scam. Plus, then now, Cingular gets re-branded to AT&T. Talk about wasting money on re-branding, advertising, new phones, pc updates, etc.

I'm finding it to be rather amusing that all of a sudden now that they change the name over, alot of the people on the other forums that I lurk on are starting to complain about poor coverage and customer service. I heard people trying to pass it off as an issue with the new at&t SIM cards, but I don't buy it due to all the problems I had with the Cingular 3G Sim card that I had......I can't wait till consumer reports puts out their cellular addition this year.

Cingular already did change the name, and the re-branding process of changing everything over to at&t is more than half way completed.
