Quite simply, what is your favorite Xbox game? Also, are there any upcoming games that seem to catch your eye?
I can't get over Crackdown, it is an amazing game IMHO. It's really fun to run up to a cop car and pick it up WITH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER IN IT and toss it into the river.
It's also a lot of fun to kill enough civilians and cops to piss off the agency and have them launch all they've got at you... while you're driving in one of those stunt ramp cars. You know, the truck with the ramp in the back? All you do is drive BACKWARDS on a highway (with your view switched to the rear) and watch as the cops one by one hit the ramp and go flying, then just swap the view forward and see where they go. Some go flying straight over head, some hit at the side and go exploding off to the side.... it's so devilishly fun. It's similar to GTA in a way with the open-ended freedom and stealing of cars (as a genetically enhanced cop!) but set in a world where almost anything can be picked up and used. Take out a streetlamp with your car, come over and pick it up to throw at your enemies, or a dumpster on the road, or a dead body lying around, or a random car coming by [once you've acquired all of the strength OFC], or the tire of a car that just blew up.
I could go on and on, I love the game.
I also love the GTA series (Vice City being my fav, I've only watched San Andreas being played though) and I have money down at a local Gamestop as a reservation for GTA IV.
Ninja Gaiden is wonderful, I LOVED Burnout: Takedown and I can't WAIT for Burnout Paradise. I realize I completely skipped over Burnout: Revenge but I'll probably end up buying that as well. The demo of Paradise seems to have departed a bit from the "try to cause as much traffic mayhem in slow motion" thing, and the demo doesn't have as many cars as I'd like to see on the roads so I could swerve in an out of them on the opposite side of the road, but hey... it's only a demo.
So... favorite game? I know I mentioned a bunch, Crackdown is probably #1 for now, but if you have like 20 favorite games then feel free to mention them all :D

That made me fall in love with Crackdown! I'm patiently waiting Ninja Gaiden 2, while I indulge myself in some serious Rock Band play.

I think I'm in love with Call of Duty 4 for now...especially the VERY last mission...

Mind explaining what it is that you love about COD4? I have heard nothing short of "ABSOLUTELY OMG EFFING AMAZING" so was just wondering ;)

The graphics, the story line, the multiplayer set up (when it works right :p)...It's what a FPS should be...at least to me...

There's a lot going on for it, especially if everybody and their puppy owns a copy. I need to pick a copy up for sure!
I'm going back to Crackdown, because some events happened in my co-op game with my brother that made me LMAO all night long. Yes, it's a story :p:
At the end of our game, before we called it quits for the night, I told my brother [over the headset of course, since we're playing over Live] that we should race before we go. We both grabbed cars and met at the starting point I specified... it was for an official race against traffic on the left side of the highway. We started, raced towards the off-ramp; I got stuck in front of an oncoming car, he passed me by... we had a lot of fun getting stuck in pile ups and jacking other cars to continue on with the race. It came to a point where we were both running around looking for cars to get in at the same pileup. Well, I found the only one with the cleanest path to freedom without barreling over other cars, and as I got in, my brother [his strength is a little higher than mine] picked up my car with me in it and turned towards the edge of the highway and proceeded to throw it off the freeway! I fortunately jumped out in the nick of time, getting into a car and driving off, only to ram into another car at a good speed and get my car stuck halfway over the edge of the freeway bridge. I couldn't move backwards or forwards, so I naturally got out of the car. Well, the driver's side door happened to be hovering over the edge, so I fell 60 feet to the streets below... my agility was only one star at the time so I couldn't jump back up, so my brother ended up passing me by. Then, somehow he ended up in an explosion while I had already given up and swam out to the ocean nearby to watch from afar... and that ended the game.
I had also read up on the "Global Impact" achievement so I got the absolutely HUMONGOUS ball that's as light as a feather and walked around with it, trying to figure a way to get it to a bunch of gang members [we had already killed the boss by the radio tower the ball was at]. We kicked it around a bit, played some soccer with it [my bro plays soccer games on his xbox] and found it'd be wonderful if he picked up the ball and carried it while I jacked a truck and drove with him in the flatbed. It was the most hilarious thing I'd seen in a longtime, this truck driving along with a man lifting a ball 3 times his size on his shoulders, acting all natural in the back... and I couldn't drive straight with tears of laughter in my eyes. We came upon some gangsters, tossed the ball back and forth and squishing them, got the achievements, and went on our way with continuing to kill gang bosses without the ball. 20 minutes later, driving to the island with the Volk gang, we decided to drive separate cars instead of just riding in one car together, and my fast civilian sports car was about 2 minutes ahead of him on the freeway, when suddenly I saw that huge ball rolling down the OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY! I screeched to a halt but smashed into a truck and went flying off the freeway, but told my brother to get on the other half of the highway and find that ball! No luck! Now we have a runaway ghost ball in our game, kind of like a UFO sighting  I'll keep ya'll informed if I see it again.

My favorite would be Marvel vs Capcom 2. It is not a 360 game but the gameplay is amazing. If you like fighting games or grew up playing Street Fighter type games, then you know about this game already.
It was expensive to buy though. I had it on the Dreamcast but when I went to find it for the Xbox, it cost me around $60 used.

Hey I remember Marvel vs Capcom games... fun stuff. Though I never knew it was on Xbox... gotta look that up, see if it is backwards compatible for the 360.
$60 used during the Dreamcast era is expensive even in todays terms!!!!

Yep, one of the most popular fighting games out there was MvC.
As for me, I am a huge first person shooter guy. I loved the orginal Halo for its arcadey feel, but I am nerd for the tom clancy games. Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, even Splinter Cell, I love and play them all.
Currently we are playing COD:4 like it's nobodies business and PGR4 for some racing. Also tossing some Tiger Woods 08 for some mellow time.
Some new games on the horizon I am looking forward to are the new Turok, Conflict: Denied Ops, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and Battlefield: Bad Company. Aside from that, its business as usual on the xbox for me. Im online nightly from around 9:30pm-12:30am EST, so hit me up, Username is LiquidCipher.

Awesome... isn't it nice to have a unique username? Heh, mine is Mystictrust ;) Turok [demo, anyway] is fun, Rainbow Six looks awesome, Conflict: Denied Ops I got to watch being played [such a tease... my fault for sitting right by the xbox's at work, and I have yet to download a demo] and what do you think of the upcoming Frontlines: Fuel of War?

I like Frontlines, at least what I have played of the demo. I like the interaction and the third person view, and the fact that it really is massively multiplayer, but I can't pass judgement either way on it as of right now. The controls felt weird to me, and since I couldnt quite set them up the way I wanted, I will wait to try the full version.

Some of my favourite 360 games have to be Crackdown, Gears of War, F.E.A.R., Smackdown v. Raw 2007 & 2008.. I just wish they made an AFL (Aussie Football) game for it here in the States.. =(

Anyone like racing games? Crackdown is [for some reason] classified as Action Racing... but what about Burnout? Need for Speed? Test Drive?
And what is Aussie Football? Any different than soccer?

My favourite NFS game was NFS Hot Pursuit for PS1 cos it had the police that were localised (i.e.German Polizei spoke German, UK Police spoke UK English, etc).
Aussie football is nothing like Soccer or rugby. go here (http://afl.com.au) for the details, also YouTube has some good explanations (try looking for AFL Promo). It's played on a field 3x the length of an NFL field, no pads or helmets, ball in constant play, games won by as little as 1 point or as many as over 100 pts., forward and backward passing, score by kicking between 2 tall poles or between tall and small poles..
Back to topic, I also love the Flatout Ultimate Carnage demo from Xbox Live..!

I really enjoy the Splinter Cell series. Great espionage and storylines. Splinter Cell Double Agent has got to be one of my favorites in the series.

I also play racing games. PGR4, Forza 2, NFS Carbon, Most Wanted, Pro Street and as much as I don't want to admit it, I have Juiced 2 in my collection as well. I got into the NFS line when the first Need For Speed came out on the 3DO. I loved it then and I love them now. When the first Hot Pursuits came out it was a breath of fresh air considering they went back to there roots after NFS2 was so horrible. I think they have lost touch a bit lately, I even reviewed Pro Street on my website, which I also didn't like very much but I am starting to warm up too.
As for the RPG style games, you can't beat Assasins Creed or Mass Effect. Both are badass, and stray away from the LotR style RTS style RPGs. Great great games!

Burnout Revenge is a blast if you're looking for a fast-paced (not simulation) racing game.

What are some good Co-op games? Army of Two is set to some out soon I believe but other than that one, what other games exist in this category?

Army of Two is out now, and its pretty good. I'm tearing through Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and it has a co-op campaign for 2 people, or you can play Terrorist Hunt with a squad for 4. Fun times and a great game, but very tactical. You can't really run and gun in this game unless you are moving from one point of cover to the next. If you get it or play it the only advice I can give is the left trigger is your best friend :)

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 - Terrorist Hunt, eh? Sounds good. Let me do some research on it. I met up with a buddy of mine and we want to do a co-op game together. I really like the old school coop types like the Ninja Turtles and Contra!
I'm sure you can do the Terrorist Hunt on Xbox Live?
liquidcipher
04-02-2008, 09:27 AM
Yep, I play it with a group of 3 other friends on live nightly. It's a blast, and since its a typical Tom Clancy shooter, if you host your own room for things like Team Deathmatch, you can make it 100% private so only you and your friends can play together and against each other. It's rather nice considering you were stuck with your opponents on COD:4. But Terrorist Hunt is great, Crank the difficulty up to realistic and the density to high and it is a real challenge. The AI is very good, they will take cover, blind fire, flank positions, move as squads and throw grenedes at that level.

RSV2 is kicking the crap out of COD4, isn't it?
I'm just happy Army of Two has a demo out now... I've heard a mixed bag of reviews on that game. Then again, EA has their name on that game... and EA has a habit of turning everything they touch to crap [with the exception of a few of their sports game]. It'd be nice if they at least turned their servers over to Microsoft... they're the only ones who SHUT DOWN servers for slightly older games just because a new one is coming out, and they have constant server problems. Meh.
