I have not heard any discussion from the blackberry reps with whom I am in constant contact. If you are looking for a more stable os version, I see over on blackberryforums.com they are giving Cingulars new .96 release rave reviews. I've recently downgraded back to .73 from rogers .94 where I was suffering voice cutouts and I have not had a problem.
I'll be speaking to the blackberry rep again on Monday and I'll beg her for some more information.

aye, i had been looking into installing the at&t 1.96 revision.... but sometime tells me that t-mo is right around the corner from releasing their heavily tested update... so i keep teetering on the fence. i'd rather not have to spend 40 minutes upgrading the OS, only to have to do it again a few days down the road

I e-mailed the blackberry rep a few minutes ago and I expect to hear back tomorrow. I asked her about an update, but if you are in need of an immediate fix then go for .96. T-mobile releasing an update is no guarantee that update will be stable or include any of the fixes we are seeking.

thanks for asking for me, i really appreciate it.
a for the guarantee comment you made, that is true... i've cleared up a lot of space on my pearl's device memory to avoid the 0.64 leak issue, but i've still got gripes with the call lag. the other minor bugs i can live with, but some of the newer features are quite enticing.

Reading through pinstack and blackberry forums has not revealed any real "upgrades" with this software in terms of new and exciting improvements. Looks to be more of a bug fix than anything else. Still I'll pick stable over new anyday.

I'll pick stable over new anyday.agreed, which is why it's always been "back to 0.64" whenever problems arise. i'll give this release a couple weeks to see what people post about it on the stacks... hopefully your bb rep gets back to you soon :)

Oh i'm more inside that I'll ever let come out on this site. Due respect to all the friends and "family" I know here from over the years of my hofo days but some things just aren't worth it. It won't come as any surprise to know that T-mobile has to monitor ast least some sites and I won't play the odds.

This is true and make sure you don't unplug anything at all until its completely done!!! Otherwise you may be forced to do it all over again. Luckily the blackberry is one of the best devices you can't screw up. The nice thing is there is little you can do to your phone short of physical/liquid damage that CAN'T be repaired. Its a little reassuring considering how often I am constantly installing and removing OS's and programs and stuff.
