View Full Version : Rough Times Ahead for Sprint/Nextel?
I recently read an article (http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/stories/2008/01/07/daily5.html) online that said that Sprint/Nextel will report lower earning this next quarter due to a loss in subscribers and their increase in strictness on consumer credit. Do you think this will entice Sprint to offer more deals in the coming months?

Although I obviously don't think Sprint will fold, I do think they need to get their game together and start getting more customers instead of losing them. I have also seen a drop off in their advertisements. Any ideas on what Sprints strategies are these days?

One of their strategies appears to avoid good news like the plague! The Wave Awards has been trying since October 2007 to speak with someone...anyone...at Sprint that would be interested in learning that Sprint TV had been nominated for a number of Wave Awards. So far, nobody at Sprint - from former CMO Tim Kelly to their PR and Publicity departments - has answered a call or returned an email.
As a former Sprint employee, I know that the customers and the employees there could stand a little good news. But they persist in ignoring the opportunity to promote their two "Sprint Exclusive" mobile shows as winners of an award voted...by mobile subscribers! I understand that the Wave Awards is new, but why ignore the thousands of subscribers and potential subscribers who voted for Sprint?
Can anyone else help me make sense of this?

I think sprint is really more so making a push for the speed of their network than anything else they want people to know their network is fast more so for business than personal use i think sprint doesn't fully know how to appeal to people for just personal use.
