"Going back to the technology - UMA is GSM "tunneled" via IP. It looks to the world like regular GSM. It is not "proprietary", but it only works with GSM. If you intend to be tied to a GSM carrier (T-Mobile is the only US carrier to offer UMA, though AT&T technically COULD if they wanted to), then UMA is fine."

Problem:
When using wireless connection on phone (wireless g) connected to the 2wire wireless gateway the phone will not complete calls while on uma. Basically the phone connects using wireless connects to tmobile voip servers (UDP 500, UDP 4500, and 50, 51) then connects the call. It is using UMA not SIP. I have tried to dmz the phone and the call still fails sometimes first ring, sometimes a couple of rings, sometime shortly after connected.
I have tried to use another router connected to the 2wire gateway like the tmobile linksys wrt54g-tm. That router basically same as normal wrt54g except it is custom set for the uma service to improve battery life. From what i gather these settings were changed:
"Fragment Threshold : 2304 (256-2346)
RTS Threshold : 2304 (0-2347)
Beacon Interval : 50 (20-1024 ms) "

But i should be able to not have to run 2 wireless routers just to get wireless on one.
Can you guys think of a way to get this uma phone on the 2wire wireless gateway?
I tried to change the settings above on the 2wire router but there ability to change these settings seems hidden.

Off the top of my head I cant think of how to change some off the settings (Most are hidden) call 1-800-288-2020 ask for tier 2.. They will transfer you up if you ask for it.

They couldn't help but all you need ot do is add the pptp or remote access server application rule and it works fine. I decided i liked my tmobile linksys router better though so I use that.
