Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that meritline.com has a USB SIM card reader/writer for only $9.99 w/ FREE standard shipping to the continental US. I just happened to find it under memory card readers when browsing after looking up a 2GB miniSD card for cesarrri12. It's currently out of stock, but I'm going to keep an eye on it.

Check it out: http://www.meritline.com/usb-sim-card-reader.html

Inuyasha have you purchased anything from this site before?

Yep. I bought 2 of the Kingston 1GB microSD cards from them. I bought them when they were still $9.99 with free shipping to the US(they're now $10.95 with free shipping to the US). They arrived pretty quickly, too, and were sealed in the factory packages.

EDIT: I have already entered my email address on their site to be notified when the SIM card readers are back in stock. Once they are, I'll let everyone know.

Great find! I'm assuming this will let you backup all your contacts and everything on your computer? That would be really nice.

Sure will. I would rather have it than one of the other sim card contact copiers. If I can get my hands on one, then I'll probably just sell the contact copier I have on eBay, lol.

You may not want to sign up for that website...

Honestly, I don't really trust anything from McAfee. Their virus scanner, along with Norton's and Dr. Solomon's, couldn't get rid of the stealthboot.C virus when it ended up on a server I was in charge of in high school. TrendMicro's PC-cillin was the only one that got rid of it. Since then, I don't trust anything from them.

This is my second order from them in the last couple of months and I haven't noticed any increase in spam. In fact I'm getting less spam at the moment than I was a few months ago.

If you're iffy about using your real email address, then use a fake one. Like most sites, they don't verify your email to place an order. I'm expecting to receive the sim card reader either tomorrow or Tuseday, so I'll let you guys know how it works. :)

I do not like McAfee. I just use their SiteAdvisor. I was not sure how good the SiteAdvisor is, I just wanted to let you know. I have NOD32 for my anti-virus.

Quick update: If you are planning on buying this, hold off for a moment. I just sent mine back today for a replacement since the one I was sent would not work with any software I tried. Hopefully I'll get the new one soon, and then I'll update you all as to how it's working out.

It requires a serial connection, a better bet is a keychain type i think, but I was so soured by my purchase of crapola (twice!) that i never tried it

Well, guys, it seems that these ones have a lot of problems. I still couldn't get the second one to work, even with different companies' sim cards. The CS decided to just let me keep the second one and gave me an in-store credit for the amount of this order toward my next purchase. I think I might use it toward a higher capacity microSD card, or maybe some DVD-Rs, lol.
