I'm searching for a phone service for a friend that doesn't want her name associated with the phone. She'd also like to pay cash. Should she use T-Mobile, Virgin, Tracphone, etc?

All 3 of the services you named can be kept anonymous. Since this is a T-Mobile forum, I'm obligated to explain that T-Mobile is potentially the cheapest of those options, LOL.

You need to remember to pay cash for the phone kit, activate it from a phone or computer NOT located in her own home, and buy all future airtime refill cards with cash. Furthermore, anybody she calls from the phone can be connected with her real name through reverse connect-the-dots. This reasoning is how people end up with 4 different cell phones... ;-)
