According to this article, Apple is considering releasing a 3G version of the iPhone in either Q2 or Q3 2008. Their current concerns are that current 3G chipset models aren't integrated enough, nor are the small enough implement in their coveted iPhone. The being that they're concerned with the battery life and size of their product being affected by the different chipset being implemented into the design of the handset. Once this new design is released, I may even consider signing-on with AT&T.

The 3G iPhone will run circles around the previous iPhone version. I just feel bad for anyone who bought an iPhone when it was $600.

True, being that the iPhone is still fairly new I'd feel shortchanged by Apple (not an unusual feelings for Apple fanboys).

That was the main reason I didn't purchase an iPhone when they hit the market. I would strongly consider it once they come with 3G.

Whenever LTE proves a superior successor over HSDPA and EVDO as a medium for transmitting both voice and data.

I would Switch to ATT only if the next iphone Will support 3G, a front-side Video-calling camera, and a Icon Scroller.

Much like this one:
