I found this forum while trying to do some research on a new phone. (And am still undecided.)
I am with T-mobile and have been for over 5 years now, signed up right as they were transitioning away from the Voicestream name. Glad to find a resource like this.

Thanks! I am looking for a slider, want something new after having flips for years. Currently have a Samsung X495. Want a camera to use as a backup when I forget (or don't have) my camera. A music player, but doesn't have to be ipod quality. Don't really text, so that is not a concern for me. I have been looking at the Samsung T629, Blast (because the upgrade price just came down substantially) and the Rizr. Had really been leaning toward the t629 but like the way the Rizr looks (although it is the most expensive). Everytime I go into T-mobile corp store though to look, they steer me away from the Rizr, saying it has problems.... Anyway, any advice or opinions are greatly appreciated.

I had the Samsung T809 (T-mobile's Samsung Slider before the T629) and I have to say it has been a great phone. I still use it sometimes. Although battery life isn't great, it definitely is not bad. The music player worked well for me, and the camera was definitely something I loved...although my T809 camera turned around (forward or backward) I'm sure the T629 camera is still good. Overall this was definitely one of my favorite phones. I would say go for it.
Edit: I just checked the battery time...and it has 5 hours talk time, definitely not bad.
Here are some more specs:

Definite problems with the Rizr, it's pretty but I wouldn't want the headaches!

From past experiences and things that I've read, Moto build quality is not what it used to be - it's just not as... good.
Not to say you won't find someone who has a RIZR/RAZR/KRAZR/K2MANYLTTRS that they have dropped 2,000 times with the perfect OS that never had any bugs, but IMHO the RIZR just doesn't have ye olde Motorola build quality.
Samsungs aren't bad at all in the sound department IMO.
