50% of the time i have problems receiving picture messages on my Blackberry 8320 curve. I am trying to find out and limit the variables so right now i am on uma and i cannot download the mms messages.
When I open the message it says could not retrieve message content. Try again later. The message has been sent from a samsung t409 on the tmobile mobile network. The picture is 42k in size and i cannot get it to work. I am running the 180 firmware and i have rebooted the phone multiple times today including taking out the battery.

Do you guys have any hints, tips, tricks, fixes?

All customer service said the other day was reboot and that they were having a nationwide picture messaging problem. But that was over a week ago. Although they did give me 100 minutes for free though because if, didnt even ask for free stuff. just wanted it to work.

On a Blackberry 8320 Curve, you need to first send a picture message before you can receive one. Have you done this yet? Otherwise, the servers think you have a legacy handset.

Go to manage connection

then go to turn off all connections, and turn off all the connections

Then turn off ur phone and turn it back on and turn on ur connections.

Hopefully that would work. It had happened to me when i lost my EDGE connection, I couldnt get any mms textes.

Since yours is working some of the time, this probably isn't it but...

I used to have a very similar problem and it happened every time my account was shut off for non-payment or when I added/deleted a line from my family plan. Multiple customer service reps confirmed that these events trigger some kind of GPRS disconnect. I would get a text message that looked like a picture message but instead of the image being there, I would get a download option that would just time out. Won't hurt to call and run it by a CS rep.

where the users are just interested in receiving information rather than sending any. ..... The trouble with IMS and to some extent with mobile VoIP is not that it's ... I use VoIP over Wifi a lot on my Nokia N95 and can nicely observe how ... reasons why I'm more positive on CS over HSPA than I am about WiFi-UMA.
