I am completely amazed by people. I just spent 30 minutes answering cell phone questions on Yahoo answers and cannot believe some of the questions. While some are legitimate questions, some could be solved by simply searching the web or calling the carrier. Why don't people research things better before purchasing or signing a contract? I'd love your imput.:dunno:

A lot of people are lazy nowadays, and you know what they say, common sense isn't that common anymore... Google is such a powerful search tool, I can't even begin to understand how people still need to ask simple questions on sites such as Yahoo Answers.
I sure hope you're encouraging those same people to visit CellPhoneSignal because it is a great place to ask questions!

Doesn't give us much hope for the future, does it? It's a shame that the quest for knowledge has been set aside for instant gratification and personal gain.
A lot of people are lazy nowadays, and you know what they say, common sense isn't that common anymore... Google is such a powerful search tool, I can't even begin to understand how people still need to ask simple questions on sites such as Yahoo Answers.Really? What age group is asking these questions?
I'll take my parents as an example... while they use laptops at work... my step-dad actually has one for Navy Reserves, one from his day job, and some old computers at their house for family finances. He is very much a newbie when it comes to what has happened on the technology front in the last few years. The very same can be said about his style of clothing. Just today, I recommended that his mother buy two of the same for both him and me or my brother... and one for him... and then give them as a current for our birthday to xmas in the current year, and then give it to her son in a few years when he realizes that his peer group has passed him by... and he looks old-fashioned. I think the same applies to technology. Some people (i.e., conservatives but not necessarily neo-con) don't drink from the fountain of whatever is new until they are forced to by new job functions or by their peer group in the the life balance of the equation.
My step-dad also used AIM for his job and mom uses SameTime from Lotus at work... a product line I pretty much quit using years ago out of annoyance.
The family also clings to their M$ stock even though I suggested a year ago to dump and go with Apple... a move which would have pretty much doubled their money.
Am I making any sense here? I guess I spend sometime defending newbs in many forums... because the young like to bash them over the head when they don't understand that people simply don't know what they don't know. What seems easy to us is what confuses the hell out of others... until you play in the adult development game.

This comment is mostly on what Kinjutsu said,
I thnk that in the time it takes for the people to ask the question on Yahoo Answers, they could just as easily go to Google and type in their question, and it would get answered even faster.
I also noticed the same thing as the OP a couple minutes ago when I was answering Yahoo Questions

I am not a hundred percent sure of the average age, but I did not intend the comment as an insult to youth in general. A lot of people ( regardless of age) are becoming lazy and do not want to do their own research. It is a trickle down theory, though. If,say, a man of 35 is raising two kids to just ask a friend or look on Yahoo Answers for the information they need as opposed to doing actual research it is teaching them that it is ok to be lazy, therefore breeding another generation of people unwilling to do their own work. In the instance of an older person who does not know much about computers, why would they not ask a younger person to show them how to do research online? It is unfortunately a sign that we are, as a society, shying away from doing things the right way in favor of taking the easy route. It is a very disheartening realization. I am sorry if I intially offended anyone.
I guess I was trying to say... We don't know what we don't know.

Oh, you should hear some of the questions I get at my job. I work in a store selling nursing uniforms, and you know, the main customers are nurses. They ask some of the stupidest questions sometimes, and I thought they would be smarter than that =\
