View Full Version : WiFi on Shadow
Hi All,
I got my shadow 2 days ago and hadn't had a chance to play with it until tody. For some reason I cannot even pick up the WiFi signal in my house anymore. The first day, the shadow detected the networkhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/1.gif (http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1269547#), but when I typed in the wep key, it said "wireless networkshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/1.gif (http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1269547#) no longer available."
Now, it is not even picking up a signal while I am sitting less than 5 ft. from router and accessing the web via laptophttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/1.gif (http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1269547#) on WiFihttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2.gif (http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1269547#).
Any help would be great

Try going into the comm manager and shutting off all the radios. Power cycle the shadow. Go back into the comm manager and only turn on the Wifi then attempt to connect. Also you might want to remove all the wireless profiles you currently have setup.
Thanks for the replies. After spending about 45 minutes on PDA support last night, we ended up doing just what I was trying to avoid; a hard reset. After the hard reset, the same problem persisted and it runs out I will be returning the shadow on this beautiful saturday morning. lol
In the long run, I did what I would have done regardless if I was on the phone with Tmo or not. I just got a faulty model, I hope.........

went and got a new shadow, got it and immediately detected a my wireless router, however once I started to attempt to connect, I was booted back and the signal was no longer visible. It's got to be my router doing something funny????

I absolutely love it. I came from a bloated 8525, so this is much nicer and compact. Very peppy, trying to decide right now if I want to try out a today plug-in since appts. are not visible with out scrolling down to appts.
All in all, great phone and this one problem with the WiFi seems to be more related to my router than phone.
I've also heard alot of complaints about battery life, mine definitely got better after a couple power down cycles.:)

Check your wireless card setting to see if it is set to "work" If it is change it to "internet"

Just know the shadow as of now IS NOT a H@H phone. While it works over wifi, it still charges against your minutes. Maybe in the near future there will be some sort of firmware update to make it H@H compatible like it should have been in the first place.
