T-Mobile Converts Columbus Retail Market to ERP

T-Mobile is taking the bold step of converting our Columbus, Ohio Retail market from T-Mobile owned and operated stores to stores staffed and operated by one of our dealer partners, Wireless Vision, LLC.

This conversion takes place November 12, and is focused on combining the winning customer experience of our Retail stores with the explosive growth potential of our dealer channel.

"For as long as I can remember, T-Mobile has been a growth company - and that spirit of growth is stronger than ever," said Sue Nokes, Senior Vice President, Sales and Customer Service. "We want to grow faster. That's why we're launching a new business model in our Exclusive Retail Program (ERP) that will provide growth opportunities while providing exceptional customer service."

The ERP program is a special group of the best retailers representing T-Mobile who are held to a higher standard of operation and required to deliver same-as or better experience as our company Retail stores.

The Columbus market was selected for its size, growth opportunities, and the strength of the team working in those stores. All 66 employees in the 12 Columbus Retail stores are transitioning to Wireless Vision and are being offered retention bonuses for making the transition.

There are no other markets targeted for this kind of conversion at this time.

"This is a big vote of confidence in our efforts to unleash Retail," said Bonita Inza, Vice President, Retail Sales and Operations. "Our Retail stores are leading the way in setting the customer service example for the rest of our channels to follow."

The change is a positive reflection on the strength of our Columbus Retail team, Inza said. "This kind of innovation is what T-Mobile is all about and only one of our strongest teams can help us take this big step."

This move accelerates the Retail transformation by bringing our Retail model to the dealer channel. "The new ERP model puts an even brighter spotlight on Retail as our best practices set the example for our dealer stores," Inza said.

Wireless Vision is based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and has been a T-Mobile dealer since 2004. Wireless Vision currently manages 56 T-Mobile stores in seven states: Michigan, Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado and Ohio, and was awarded the Best Service Excellence - Retailer award at the 2006 T-Mobile National Dealer Summit.

Hmmm very interesting! I wonder what this is going to do to their presence in OH. Also...it looks like the Wireless Vision company they switched to has had a good track record, and seems to be a growing, well run company. I guess we'll see

I think that the issues at T-Mobile are much deeper than they realize...

It means that T-Mobile is chasing their tail, trying anything to win. Get a grip.
