So about a year ago, I fell asleep on the phone with someone who was then, my girlfriend. About 2 hours into the call (an hour after we fell asleep) someone started talking. I was really confused.
It was not her, anyone in her family, or anyone that was on her side of the phone. She was fast asleep. It turns out, somehow, I was partially listening in on someone else's conversation. Not only that, but it was two people that were breaking up. I could only here the women, who was talking to her boyfriend, but I tried to talk and she could not hear me. It was very weird. I called CC the next day and they said it should not be possible, but they are working on the tower in my area, and they really don't know. The rep actually said he heard about it happening once before. I was just wondering if this is 1. Possible and 2. If this has happened to anyone?

Yes it's possible and does happen, (used to get it with Cingular occasionally... only once with T-mo long ago).

It has happened to me on land lines in the past, but never on a cell phone before. Wow! That would be a very weird way to wake up...

Exactly! Some of my convos sound really bad if you don't know how we are talking about something...so I feel bad for anyone that has ever listened in on one of mine. Glad to know I'm not crazy and it has happened to other people.

I've had it happen to me a few months ago. I was talking to my cousin when all of a sudden it sounded like there was a party going on in the background, with people laughing and talking real loud. I finally had to hang up because I couldn't even hear my cousin anymore. That was the only time that I can recall it happening to me.

It happened to me a few years ago with T-Mobile. I was calling someone, and I heard another person's conversation, but they couldn't hear me. I immediately called T-Mobile, and the rep said its not possible. I was like yes, it can happen. Of course they go off of their training and deny what you say, well some of them do.

I also know it happens to cordless phones. I was talking go my friend who was on a cordless phone, and her phone got crossed with someone from upstairs, and their were listening to a sex chat line. LOL. They were saying what they like, and what they are looking for and their sex needs.

Well THATS awkward!

When I called CC they denied it at first but then said sorry it happened and I think the 2nd call they offered me bonus minutes or something (couldn't take them...already had the max lol)

I would like to know how tower hand-off occurs. Like when u move from one tower to the next the call continues, and how the towers work in the back end.

it happened to me on a landline............

i called from my landline (610-370-xxxx) (Verizon)

to my ex-gfs landline (610-987-xxxx) (D&E Communications)

this guy picked up and he said i had the wrong number........

i called from my landline to her cell (610-858-xxxx) (Verizon Wireless)

the same guy picked up...........at this point we were still going out and i talked to her about it and she said that neither of her phones rang and it was really weird
