The $9.99 Unlimited Windows Mobile e-mail only add-on feature launches on Friday, October 26 . This Unlimited Windows Mobile e-mail add-on feature allows you to send and receive unlimited personal e-mail from your Windows Mobile device, including the Wing, Dash, and upcoming Windows Mobile devices.

Came out yesterday, I'm not sure if this was posted yet, I mentioned it in the Upcoming Phones thread, but I thought the launch was going to be with the Shadow. Looks like T-Mobile bumped up the release date of this feature. If you want Email access only, then you have a $9.99 option just like Blackberry users!!

I was always under the impression that the 5.99 Internet plan allows people to access their email.? Whether or not it allows you to access the internet and/or tethering depends on port closing etc. If you can access email on the 5.99 why would you want the 9.99 for email?

You're right, but that would be web based email through T-Zones, needing the $5.99 add on. To use the built in messaging app to display HTML email, send/receive attachments, etc, you would need the $9.99 Unlimited Email option on smartphones. Phones like the t719, the Blast, and the RAZR2 can do it counted as part of your messaging bundle.

When I had a tmobile dash, with the 5.99 plan. I was able to use the built in email application and was able to us Microsoft DirectPush to get my email quickly. I am not sure about attachments though. I was not however able to get on the web to many sites. I thought the email application used a different port (125?) compared to the internet (8080?).

I have since switched to the curve, but was wondering, because the shawdow looks really nice.
