in order to tryout 3G, I spent some money to get 5 days unlimited access, on top of good trusty Peoples
reception: it's similar with GSM1800 here, that you can exepct same thing on 1900
speed: with HSDPA, I get 1200/300 with 6120; with basic UMTS, I get 360/300 with N73
you may notice that, the outstream has HUGE improvement
battery: I have to admit 3G is battery killer
no comment on call quality, because I use 3G solely for internet, but you may not expect better voice quality than T-Mobile good quality 2G (voice quality on Peoples is awful, a lot of background noise and distortion, even with K790a)

You might want to say what "Peoples" is located although I know you have been an active member in this forum. Or better say "China Mobile Peoples".....more descriptive.....:)

Thanks for the information.
What would the speed be in Mbps? That is all I understand. Mbps.:p

the speed is in kbps
if it's Mbps, telecom in HK is way too ahead
3G is great for tethering, but not good for streaming audio (sucks battery like no tomorrow, and the phone becomes too hot to touch)
