Verizon has dropped their lawsuit against the FCC over the open spectrum rules for the 700MHz auction. The CTIA has decided to step in and pick up the case, and is seeking to overturn the open access restrictions on 22MHz of the spectrum. The suit claims the rules for use of those blocks go against previous FCC rulings and are unrealistic in the US. marketplace.

Oh why can't these wireless companies just realize that an open spectrum will be so much more beneficial for the consumer? Why do they try to squeeze every ounce of profit from us that they can? Google is taking the right approach by pushing for an open network.
