Unlock T-Mobile Dash

Is the dash unlocked with a software download or simply a numerical code?

i dont kno what unlocked is..BUT
i bought my dash from a T-Mobile store last week AND
It was already unlocked!
never ran a program to "crack it" or anything like that...no secret codes or anything.
I have pocket nester...stk...dash weather....textman (cant get it to work)..and many other apps....BUT
to answer ur question...i believe its a software download

Also, T-Mobile CS will provide you with an unlock code as long as you've had service with them for at least 3 months. They will give you 1 unlock code for each line on your account, every 3 months.
