there's something behind it
by the past history (back to Voicestream days), VS never carried LG product
LG phone used to be pretty bad, but I see more improvement, at least on CDMA side

LGs are decent...I guess. Every LG I've owned gave me problems. Whether it was poor service when compared to other phones, poor voice quality or some other problem that I would have on the CDMA side of things.

I personally like Motorolas and Nokias the best. They seem to give the best reception and durabilty. I have personally never owned a Samsung but I know many people that enjoy them very much. My father personally loves Samsung but isn't too crazy about Motorola.

I would like to see T-Mobile carry more than 1 or 2 Nokias and begin reselling Sony Ericsson phones in their lineup.

Wirelessly posted (Dell X50v and/or SE K790a: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320))

SE W300 has the strongest reception I ever had
K790a is a nice phone for daily use
6120 is a small smartphone
N73 is a "wow" phone after N95

I used the LG Shine for a few weeks, and it was a darn nice phone.

I had an LG phone and the thing that most annoyed me about it was that there was no way to download data off of it directly. I had the data transfer cable, but they never produced a program to connect to it, and none of the 3rd party apps would work. Now, that's one of the first things I look for in a phone.

I don't know if LG phones are still like that, but I'm still biased against them.

Are we sure about this? Who owns LG? How does Samsung fit into this?

I only like LGs on CDMA side. Not so sure about GSM.

I agree, it would be nice if T-Mobile would carry at least a few LG models. I've recently tried the LG CU400, and the TRAX, on AT&T and I was really impressed by how much the reception has changed over the ones that I have had with them in the past.
The biggest problem I had was the constant signal fluctuation between a 3G and an EDGE connection. However setting the phones on 2G only was able to resolve that for me.

LG's for CDMA were pretty good. I had a few when I was with Sprint a couple years back and they worked great! I havent heard too much about them on the GSM side, and what I have heard wasnt great nor was it totally bad. For GSM I have used various Motorola's, Blackberries, Samsungs, and Nokia's. I felt Motorola's were best with durability, but found them to give me problems with interface and freezing after heavy usage. Nokia's never let me down and had great voice quality and battery life but durability was not even close. Samsungs faired in the middle for all of the above specifications mentioned. All in all I dont see Tmobile doing too much with LG's especially in the near future, but who knows maybe they might bring in the LG prada or something cool like that to compete with the iPhone of AT&T!!!! What do you guys think!?????

@ qbangringo, I do see LG coming out with something in the future to compete with the iPhone, unfortunately just not on T-Mobiles network.

Ellen, maybe you know more than me, but what phone do you think that would be and why not on Tmo?

Historically speaking, LG's build quality has not been that great. Neither has Samsung's for that matter, but they have improved quite a bit. The carriers typically like the Korean phones because they make more money on "free" phones versus Motorola and Nokia. If the U.S. had a market where carriers did not provide phones but you purchased your own, you would probably see a different variety of phones in the U.S. Just look at Verizon Wireless where almost everything is LG or Samsung. Of course, Korea is exclusively CDMA.

The funny thing is LG's iPhone competitor is coming to AT&T

It doesn't make sense to me why the Prada would be on AT&T though, when it already has the iPhone...

but thats just me..

T-Mobile now has two different LG models, one of them in a couple of colors.
