Is it possible to view a video being played on Windows Media player, on an external source, such as a television, through RCA (Componite Stereo/yellow, Audio/white&red)?
Is there a cable that will convert from the 11 pin, mini USB to the audio/video out/RCA?

I would think that this would be possible, provided that you had the right data cable.

That is my question. Is there a cable that will convert from mini b USB to RCA A/V?
Does anyone know of such a cable existing? I have searched EVERYWHERE...Fry's, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Google Search, etc...and have not found such a cable.
Has ANYONE successfully viewed video from the Dash, on an external source, such as a TV?
Any help is appreciated.

this may work under linux, i was just thinking couldnt you use the dv script for mencoder and rip the video to ur hd, then pipe the video to ur tv card via mplayer as its encoding. nice thing about linux u can rip encode watch all at same time... but you have to set ur device in the dv script. dv is digital video just incase u wondered, theres a script already out there called dv-rip or something like that, ill search and post it for ya, which rips encodes from a dv camera via firewire but u can modify it for usb easily. i think as long as ur device is recognized u can do this in linux. if ya search the linuxdevices.com i believe it is, ull find alot on linux and fones... and if ur not to linux savy, u could always run vmware player and dsl(damn small linux) image under winders and do the same as i said above... but as far ,as directly from fone to tv, im not sure aboutthat or if theres a cable etc, worst case is ya break out the solder gun and make ur own cable :) hope this helps out...
EDIT: almost forgot does the dash have software in it to push the video to another source??? if not then i dont think it would be possible... more than likely ud need to use a middle man like a pc to do it... im gonna try experimenting on this also, since i have linux installed on my sdcard, but i still need a pc involved to boot from and use mplayer to pipe the video to a tv...grrr lol Entering MPlayer homepage (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/) theres a link to d/l mplayer if ya wanna give it a try, theres also a window port... i posted this link here awhile back but dont remember where i did so here it is again...

There is a miniSD and SD card that supposedly includes this capability, but it hasn't been seen other than in press pictures.
Using the miniUSB wouldn't work unless the hardware and the software was set up to do so. You couldn't just get a special cable.
Some upcomping phones do have VGA out (a nokia and a wm pro phone if I remember right). There may even be a couple of currently available phones that do this (I'm not sure but I believe the O2 fire does this).
