i was looking up some info for employer and student discounts for cell phone providers. i have tmobile right now and i checked w/ verizon, att, and sprint and i qualify for 15% off from verizon, att and sprint dont tell me the % until I select a plan. my question is if I call tmobile and tell them i can get 15% off my bill from another carrier, will they give me a discount? any advice for me to try and get my discount?

I work for Boeing and I get a discount on T-Mobile as well as AT&T. In either case, they were not well adverstised, I had to deliberately seek both sites to find them. BTW, I am using Tmo pay as you go for voice on my old MPx200 (no discount on prepay) and I have an unlimited data account for another sim that just went down by a bit and AT&T for data only (HSDPA). I get 20% from AT&T but I'm not sure how much my Tmo VPN account is discounted. It was 29 bucks when I signed in 2005 and it did go down noticeably. I'll calculate it and report back.

My dad works for Boeing also. He is in the Wichita plant. I think he on the military side though. He'll be in Seattle next week for something. I didn't know that Boeing and T-Mobile had a discount. Wonder if my dad would change from Sprint. hmmmm.

Considering how both CDMA carriers treat their customers, it may not be difficult. I had to scour the T-Mobile site with a magnifying glass to find it. Here is the return email addy they sent me. I know I had a form to fill out and email back.

They probably won't match the discount. Carriers generally give discounts to corporations that have large contracts with them. Besides Even without the discount T-Mobile may be as cheap as the others with the discount (depending on plan and features of course).

i guess i answered my own question kind of....i just got this email(removed my name and account # for the post)
Hello x,
Thank you for contacting the T-Mobile Migrations Team. I hope your day
is going well. I have received your completed migration form. My name is
Annette and I am delighted to assist you with your migration request.
At this time, your account # has been attached to the Corporate
Volume Discount program and special offers for Starbucks Coffee Company
employees. Please note: this discount will apply to all currently active
lines on the account. In order to provide your account with special
employee offers, your bill cycle close date was changed to the 16th of
each month. Your current cycle will run its course, after which your
account will run one short (prorated) bill cycle. Subsequent bill
periods will begin on the 17th of each month and end on the 16th of the
following month. Invoices are mailed approximately 6-8 days after the
close date and your new due date will be the 13th of every month. If
billing delays occur, your due date will be adjusted.
x, on your billing invoice you will see the discount credits
displayed in the "Adjustments to Bill" section displayed as "Corporate
Volume Discount". This will be located in the "Account Service Detail"
section on the first few pages of your invoice. Also, this discount may
vary from month to month, based on the combined monthly recurring
charges for all company accounts. Please be advised that the discount
may take from 30 to 60 days to appear on your billing statement. Your
account will begin to have credit applied once it has run a full cycle
on the new bill cycle, as outlined above.
Upon review of your account, I noticed that you would benefit from
T-Mobile?s EasyPay feature. EasyPay is a free Service enabling you to
pay your T-Mobile bill automatically every month using a preauthorized
payment from your bank account or credit card. To setup EasyPay, please
visit Unsupported Browser (http://www.T-Mobile.com/easypay), or contact Customer Care.
It is due to our valued customers such as you, x that we strive
to achieve the highest in customer satisfaction. We truly appreciate

I wonder if EB/GS employees get discounts. We get discounts at AT&T and (obviously) Helio.

Absolutely true! I approached this in a tongue in cheek manner, the prices are already so good for the level of service, I figured that they just gave everyone the same price. I was so surprised when they emailed me back the form and gave me a Boeing discount. My AT&T Data plan needed a discount to bring it down to 60 bucks a month so I was all over that in 2006 as soon as I got recalled to Boeing. AT&T actually made me provide a Boeing email address before they would even approach it.
I wish i had a company discount
