Depends on what phone you're using. I see it when I use my RAZR, but not when I use my V195.

I have noticed it too for a while now. Don't see it on my V300 but do on my V360. I am hoping that they make Opera Mini avaliable to TMobileWeb users.

Maybe a Google Maps app that doesn't require a proxy? Gmail, maybe? Or maybe an official T-Mo version of Opera Mini? We can dream...

Haha, that would be pretty cool. Actually, with all those Google going into wireless and trying to get into the 700Mhz auction, Google has been talking to carriers regarding *POSSIBLY* a Google phone. And word has it they are furthest in talks with T-Mobile than any other carrier. Will find a link and post soon!
EDIT - Here's the Link - Google Pushes Tailored Phones To Win Lucrative Ad Market - WSJ.com (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB118602176520985718.html?mod=technology_main_what s_news)
Google has approached several wireless operators in the U.S. and Europe in recent months, including AT&T, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, a joint venture of Verizon Communications Inc. and Vodafone Group PLC, people familiar with the situation say. T-Mobile USA, a unit of Deutsche Telekom AG, appears to be the furthest along in considering it, these people say. Andy Rubin, who helped design T-Mobile's popular Sidekick phone, now works at Google and is involved in its handset project.

I was thinking that since T-Mo clamped down on Java apps' access to the web, maybe they would make their own versions that would be "approved" or whatever, so we don't have to hack our websessions files (Moto users, anyway) to use their proxy server anymore. I could see them charging a few bucks for the app--I'd pay for an official T-Mo-sanctioned version of Gmail, Google Maps, and Opera Mini if the price was reasonable and they worked with T-Mobile Web with no sorcery necessary.

HAHAHA, you said "sorcery". Sorry, i thought that was HILARIOUS! :00009136::00009136::00009136:
And i agree, i don't like how T-Mobile's "apps" are web-based for getting email or AIM if you don't have a built-in client. I wouldn't like paying for T-Mobile branded Google Apps simply because they should be free, as is everything with Google. I buy unlocked phone anyways, so the apps work when i download them. But, from a consumer standpoint and in general nationwide, I can agree with your sentiment...no "Sorcery" required, hahaha!!! That's funny!

I would rather not have to pay for a Google app (or a T-Mo app that works with Google, or whatever) as well, but you know T-Mobile will probably want to make some dough if they do release an "official T-Mobile" equivalent of the free Google apps and/or Opera Mini. We can always "mirror" our Gmail accounts to T-Mo's My E-mail, but there is currently no substitute for Google Mobile Maps or Opera Mini. (Actually, there is another mobile map app, but it's another Java app that probably won't work without the same kind of fooling around required to run Google Maps.) Not sure what phones you have; I have a Moto V195 flashed with V197 f/w, and a Pearl Grey RAZR that I flashed with an unbranding MP. I can use the Google apps as well as Opera Mini by editing my Web Sessions files to use T-Mobile's proxy server, but I don't know how easily that can be done with other phone brands. (Apparently, with Nokias there may be a security certificate issue as well.)
