here is the brief description

LG is joining Qualcomm, the chipmaker, and telecoms operators AT&T and T-Mobile in petitioning the courts to suspend Thursday’s ruling by the US International Trade Commission to ban imports of third-generation mobile phones that contain chips by Qualcomm. The chips were deemed by the ITC to violate a patent held by rival Broadcom.

So T-mobile is part of it. I was hoping it didn't affect T-mobile, but I guess it does. Oy...well its not like we were waiting for 3G.

So what exactly in the chip violates the patent. A design, or special wiring or..what?

nokia and SE are not affected by this incident, and able to supply handset once received orders from T-Mobile (and at&t)
but Sprint and VZW may be in trouble, because Kyocera, UTStarcom, LG, Sierra, Novatel, Samsung are affected (these manufacturers employs Qualcomm chips)
