Ok... if you have been reading some of my posts, you know that I am hoping that the 8300 will be able to access HotSpots without paying extra for it.

Some think it can be done and some think it cant be done.

Now what I want is some confirmation if it can be done or not. We are about a week away from the Blackberry 8300 Curve launch.

From the product service guide I have seen, it looks like it can not be done without paying extra for it.

Can anyone confirm this?

If it can not be done then... *gasps* I may have to go to the dark side... and get a Wing phone from T-mobile.

You can use any wifi hotspot if it is open, or any closed spot if you know the key (WEP or WPA/2). You can only use the T-Mobile Hotspots if you have the Total Internet plan, the Hotspot add-on, or otherwise have access to them. I don't know if the BB-data plans include hotspots or not

Now since the Blackberry 8320 have a early release and sales on some of their stores, I decided to bump this up.

Now for people who own it now, can you confirm that it really does work on HotSpots like most people say it will without paying extra for HotSpots?

And what speed are you getting at the Hotspots?

I've been asking all my people and have had no definitive answer. Hotspot isn't being incorporated into the BB plan, and the Total Internet Plan wouldn't work with BB Email, so it's like 6 eggs in one hand, and a half dozen in the other. I'm sure at launch we'll have confirmation, I'll be getting one by Tuesday so I'll be able to tell you by then if no one else has answer before.
