Alright, the ads around here are starting to look like the ones on HoFo... but this place I am willing to pay for :D Any method set up yet so I can get rid of these ads?
Mystic, sorry about the ads but I do need some way to make money from this forum to pay for hosting costs n such. I'm sure there are a few ad blockers you can get for free.

I didn't even know there were any, lol. I use FF with adblock plus, so I don't see ads, lol.
They are not bloated up and annoying like many forums.
I'm trying to keep the ads very non-intrusives by blending them with the site's colors.

Agreed that it blends in well, and I will be getting Adblock Plus.
I understand you're needing money for the site and I have no problems with that, but please don't dismiss the idea of a "paid subscription" one day, such as the one for HoFo... as people have paid for HoFo I'm sure they would pay for here (especially cause of the much friendlier community)
Yeah I would pay monthly here like I do at HoFo.
I plan to roll out a subscription model in Phase 3. :)

Yeah, they should not make them. They say that you are the 1,000,000 visitor too.

I have mixed feeling about this
we want this forum keeps running, but the Admin needs something to offset the cost
btw, mine is still "clean", I probably has some ad sites blocked by firewall after hofo ad disaster

Yeah, I don't like how they talk. I also don't like the ads that when you put your mouse pointer over them they get big.
These ones are okay, I think they are mainly the same ones.

Haha don't worry guys, all those kinds of ads are from random, unprofessional and annoying ad services. From the looks of it, all the ads here are from Google that does nothing other then have text ads with regards to the content on the page. No noises, ads getting bigger, or flashing banners

The ads don't really bother me. I just don't like the ones over at Howard Forums. When you put your mouse pointer over them they will get big with the ad. Like if you put the pointer over 3G it will show an ad about 3G.

Just a suggestion, but can you put the ad bars at the TOP AND BOTTOM of each thread or forum index INSTEAD of inserting them in between every 1-5 posts? IMO, that makes the ads very intrusive and starts making this site look as bad as HoFo (not trying to be mean here... just stating my own opinion). If you put them ONLY at the TOP AND BOTTOM of each thread and forum index, then that would make it less intrusive and more "reader friendly". I REALLY HATE how the ads break the flow when you're scanning a forum or reading a thread... :(:(:(

do you remember those talking ad?
these are the most annoying, and MUST BE BLOCKED by firewall, adblock, IE restricted sites
currently tmosignal does not have these freaking ads (but it won't show up anyway because I beefed up security)
Don't worry, there won't be any talking ads. I don't really think text ads are intrusive. On HOFO, you have ugly banners.

text-based ads I can live with, not too annoying
non-flash and/or non-talking banners are acceptable

Alex,
I'm not sure whats going on or if I missed something, but today while I've been on the site on and off I've gotten like 5 pop up ads here. Is there something I missed?

Pop-up ads? That's impossible. I only have Google ads on the website. You sure you weren't surfing on another site that had pop-up ads?

I thought it was strange, the first time it happened was when I came here first thing this am, I hadn't been anywhere else, FWIW my popup blocker blocked them, it hasnt happened again since this afternoon, maybe it was something the kids were on. Sorry to have alerted you.
Sassy, thanks for letting me know. I want to make sure that everyone has a pleasant experience when they visit T-MobileSignal. Pop-up ads are evil. I will never put them on my site.

The only ads I've seen here are the text ads from Google. I have no problem with those. :)
It is the talking and flashing ads on HoFo that I dislike. :th_thumbsdownsmiley

I have Linux installed on my laptop and use the SeaMonkey suite for e-mail and web browsing.
It's funny though - if I click ad made with Flash, nothing happens.
