I don't know about this one. My BB Curve isn't exactly the fastest thing out there when it comes to loading up web pages. Although I don't have anything to compare it to.

Galvatron, I was reading up on this very topic this afternoon. Is Opera Mini fast than the BB installed browser when it comes to loading up web pages?

www.operamini.com use your mobile browser afer loading it go in to options advanced options and click tcp in the APN fielld typeWap.voicestream.comLeave the username an the password blank an save the settingsWhat operamini dos is take an average website sendit to operas server resizes it to your screen resolution an renders it on your device withing a fraction of a second that's what it's dong when it says processing.

I just downloaded Opera Mini on my Motorola V360. No problems with it so far.

I downloaded Opera Mini on the Curve last night to test it, and I actually found some of the pages loaded even slower than on my V360.

I don't feel like reading all 3 pages so I take it that you guys are working on one right?

Just don't use the really cheap ones that Blackberryforums and Howardforums are using. It lacks so many features that I decided to not use it at all.

Galvatron, this is what I'd like to know as well. But after my own testing of the Curves page load times and reading complaints on other forums by people who own it, I have come to find that there is a real problem with web speeds on it.

Ellen

greenblood, it must be a phone problem. I'm able to view the wap sites of all the forums that I post on, using all my phones. I don't know why that 6120 is giving you a problem with this.

I thought the WAP version looks the same on every phone. Maybe the screen resolution on your Samsung compared to your Nokia is what is making it appear to be better?

It didn't last, it's back to the Nokia. Bluetooth isn't working properly w/the Samsung. I went through two earpieces, both (Jabra and Motorola) were defective, buzzing and tinny sounds.

I can live with the Nokia.

There is one oddity that I have noticed with the WAP site, but it is not limited to T-MobileSignal, I see the same with WirelessAdvisor's WAP site.

The graphics for both "Username" and "Password" appear vertically:

U
s
e
r
n
a
m
e
instead of horizontally across the screen. Is it the web site software doing this or the Nokia phone? When I looked at T-MobileSignal in the Samsung, I believe those graphics appeared properly (horizontally).

Hmm...I think it may be your Nokia phone. However, maybe the other users can test this out on their phones?

Edward both of the sites that you are referring to here use to appear that way for me to, but that was because they were on the regular web site version, instead of the WAP version. Two things that you can try are:

1) To use the WAP site for T-MobileSignal, type in : WAP.T-MobileSignal.com. For WIrelessAdvisor, type: Wa00.com.

2) Another thing that worked for me on my Verizon phones, was the Google Mobile Converter. The url is: Enter a URL (http://www.google.com/gwt/n). This allows you to type in the url that you want to go to. Then it mods it into a format that the handsets browser and memory can understand.

I hope this helps. :)

The above are the URL's that I have been using for here and WA. HowardForums gives me a "memory full" error when I go to wap.howardforums.com.

Puzzled...

Although I could pop the SIM into a Nokia 6800 that I have, to see what happens on that phone.

On the Nokia 6800, the Username graphic appeared as:

Userna

me:
Not exactly vertically, but a little better.

I have used the Google converter previously, for other web sites, but even with that, I noticed it did not format pages correctly. There were even a few that I ran into, where the Google converter was unable to reformat for a mobile phone screen. It's not perfect.

The Samsung displayed T-MS's WAP site without any issues, I just need to get that BT for it. :D

Is there a setting in your phones that you can use to change the settings back to the way they were before?

Is there a setting in your phones that you can use to change the settings back to the way they were before?

The setting does not work anymore, someone has to fix it, it's a web site software problem.

When you go into the WIForums Preferences, there is a selection WAP Options, this is where the WML/XHTML setting is.

After it was changed from XHTML to WML then saved:
The two items in the selection list disappeared, leaving an empty selection list.
The T-Mobile Signal graphics also disappeared, they were replaced with a generic "WIFORUMS" graphic.
It removed a link to save those preferences.

Edward, T-MobileSignal is going through some drastic changes. These changes will affect the WAP version of the site. I will do my best to see that this gets fixed. However, it won't be fixed until mid-next week my programmer said. Please bear with us!

I just wanted to clarify exactly what occurred when that setting was changed, so your programmer would know where to look to find the problem.

I accessed the WAP site with the Samsung phone today and for some reason still unknown to me, it displayed the missing entries and I was able to re-select XHTML so the site is now fully displayed (graphics and all). :D
