Master P and Lil’ Romeo officially endorse the new T-Mobile Sidekicks. World crumbles beneath us | The Boy Genius Report (http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2007/09/06/master-p-and-lil-romeo-officially-endorse-the-new-t-mobile-sidekicks-world-crumbles-beneath-us/)
Wow.....Master P and Lil' Romeo officially are endorsing the Sidekick LX (4) There is even a song you can listen to.....wow....that's all i can say.....T-Mobile, what happened with that decision?....wow
Example of some of the lyrics:
"Tmail me, my Sidekick, you got one? Flip it up!"
"Hit me on the Sidekick, rollin’ with a fly chick, I ain’t even trippin’ wody, that’s just my sidekick."
"I do it for the trappers, I do it for the dope boys, Sidekick ringin’"
"Halle Berry in the Sidekick, you know I keep a fly chick, I could make it rain, T-Mobile phone in the pocket. Got a pearl white one like my boy D-Wade. I ain’t trippin’ on the haters ‘cuz I’m already paid."
"This thing on my hip? Yeah, tt’s called a Sidekick, CHYEA!, it’s more than a phone, it compliment the wrist."
"D-Wade iced out shinin’ like a lighthouse"
"We ain’t got to speak, let your hands do the talkin’ mami, tmail the info to the after party"
"FLIP IT UP, FLIP IT UP, FLIP IT IP, FLIP IT UP, FLIP IT UP, FLIP IT UP"

I wish I had as much money as T-Mobile, because I definitely wouldn't blow it away like this. Sometimes, this company makes no sense to me.

Very, Very BAD marketing there!

I agree, Paris Hilton might have been a dolt, but it was decent marketing for the SK2. Snoop marketing for the SK2 was good, lots of people love Snoop. D-Wade/Charles Barkley for the SK3 is sensational, huge basketball superstars, everyone knows and (for the most part) loves them. Master P and his kid, Lil Romeo, is dumb. I can just imagine people saying "Master P, wow, i thought he was dead...."

MASTER P & LIL ROMEO are not popular anymore.. People don't really care to listen to them either.. Its been what 2 or 3 years since you have heard a song from Lil Romeo.. They both suck now regardless..
If it was a marketing thing for me I would have used someone more popular... Hope their plan works for them..

Maybe T-Mobile USA's marketing budget got cut, so they had to find someone that would work for cheaper? That's the only reason I can think of...

This would have been a good move back in the late 90's when No Limit was the only thing everyone listened to... I remember those days, they came out with CD's every week.. Who remembers??

If that doesn't scream "Ghetto, drug dealers, gangs and thugs", I don't know what does. What in the world was T-Mobile thinking on this? It's sad, those are some young kids in there, teaching them gang banger crap already :( If I was the NAACP, or Al Sharpton, I'd be having a talk with these folks asap.

I'm into Old Skool rap myself, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Grand Master Flash, that sorta stuff, before the gang bangers took over. Rap used to mean something, it had a message, and told how things were out there, now rap is telling how people should be, not how they are.

You all are just itty bitty kiddies, I graduated High School in 1990, before the 90's had a chance to ruin music ;) The late 1990's? Well, I graduated from Idaho State University in 1997, with a BA in History.
Junior High School for me was 1984-1986, when I started in 1984 Madonna was a young, up and coming star, Grand Master Flash and Run DMC ruled the rap scene and Michael Jackson was still black :D

Danger just makes the OS, and handles the back end server; the handsets are all made by Sharp, except for the slide, which is by Motorola.

BGR updated the post. Looks like T-Mobile is denying that they have any kind of agreement with Master P and Lil Romeo.
UPDATE: OK, T-Mobz. While some of what we said is true (you really need to work on the phones and network side of things), we might have been a little harsh. Additionally, we received word from T-Mobile directly that Master P and Lil’ Romeo are not endorsing T-Mobile products, and they had no hand in the creation of the "Sidekick" song on their new album. At this point, we’re waiting for Master P and his team to get back to us with some official quotes and an interview but, we thought we’d update you now. A T-Mobile spokesperson told us that "the posting about T-Mobile’s relationship with Master P and Lil Romeo endorsing Sidekick devices is inaccurate. T-Mobile does not have a promotional or financial deal with Master P, Lil Romeo, the Miller Boyz or Take A Stand Records. While we appreciate their enthusiasm for Sidekick devices, T-Mobile was not a partner in the development of this song." Without hearing from the Miller Boyz directly yet, can we take guesses why they’d make a song and video with such blatent product placement and endorsements in it? They wanted to get the attention of T-Mobile to secure a deal, if we had to guess. Or they did they actually get a check and T-Mobile realized it was an awful idea? What makes it even more odd, is that MTV and over 15 entetainment sites have a "press release" from Master P and Lil’ Romeo about this new "endorsement". We’ll update you guys when we hear back from Percy. In the meantime, the "Sidekick" music video clip and "press release" from Master P and Lil’ Romeo is below, along with song lyric excerpts from the song.
Whew....thank goodness....

ATT pays for getting devices exclusivity, and they have a lot of money to play with compared to T-Mobile. I wouldn't say that they are difficult to catch, but they do need to work on their handset line up a little more aggresively, i think.
