Hello all. I'm hoping you can answer this question. I have a 9 year old daughter and I'd like to know where she is at all times. Thus, I think she should have a cell phone. I just don't want to spend another 40 bucks a month. Does T-Mobile have a plan for kids?

we have kidconnect. it gives you 100 minutes a month, unlimited mobile to mobile. it is $19.99 a month. when you run out of minutes you can still call M2M and if you want you can use the prepaid refill cards to add more anytime minutes if you need them before a new month starts. so basically you kid can never run the bill up past $20 and they will always be able to contact you on M2M. there are not any special phones for this either. this plan works on all current t-mobile phones

They don't have those three button phones. I believe Target sells the Firefly (type of phone you're looking for), and you just buy refill minutes. Here's the link: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-1/qid=1181788249/ref=sr_1_1/602-4847543-8440607?ie=UTF8&asin=B000A1GTRW

The T-mobile KidConnect is a really good deal, and it doesn't cost very much money at all either. If you don't want to do that, a pre-paid phone kit is always good. We got a phone, plus 1030 minutes for $88 + tax. Such a good deal! That was for my younger brother.

I bought the TMobile To Go Motorola V195 prepaid service for my 9 year old daughter a few months ago. So far she has been very responsible about using it. I called TMobile and had them put Text Messaging back on for her after I initially had it turned off. Her first text message was sent to my Verizon phone that said "I Love you Mommy". :) ... She doesn't even use the $10.00 a month that I've been applying to the account for her..... IMHO the regular prepaid phones are nicer and more practical than those 3-4 button phones.

Is the 100 minutes an in-store special beasty? BC I was just looking online for my son and it only shows 50 minutes...

The Kidconnect plan sounds terrific. My oldest child is only eight, so I hope that T-Mobile still has the plan in a few years.
