I'm noticing that the threads looks a little different...such as the fact the info is on the side as opposed to above.

If anything, I notice there is a lot of space between the end of someone's post and the end of the frame the post is held in. Looks odd when someone's signature is in their post and there are approx 10 lines or more of blank space beneath it.

I like the look though, seems usable, and if I change my mind I'll constructively criticize later.

Sorry, Shawn, but to me, there is just too much info for the postbit to be on the side. At hofoufn.com, there's only a little bit of info in the postbit and it works great on the side(e.g. Samsung t629 Review - UFN- Underground File Network (http://www.hofoufn.com/f-t-mobile-191/t-samsung-t629-review-27124.html)). It doesn't leave the gap after the sig.

Smaller font, aligned to the left instead of centered, remove the word province and allow for only a 3 or 4 word abbreviation on state?

I agree with this ^^

Oh darnit, I meant 3 or 4 letter abbreviation  United States should also be abbreviated to US or USA.

I like it! Some of the info could go though, that would shorten it up a bit

I believe Alex has just submited some changes to the layout :)

I think that if there was a way to shorten it...or maybe even for short posts like this one, so this post didn't take up as much room, that would be nice. Otherwise its not bad :)

That is what I suggested to Alex thru AIM. Also gave him some examples from other forums I belong to.

I'm going to be different here. I voted that I could care less! Either way looks good to me.

I like the old layout. That is just IMO.

Guys, I don't like how it makes the post stretch out so much. I've sent the changes to my programmer...I'm sure he'll get it right.

I don't really mind
but if it's user-selectable, this'll be perfect
hofo paid membership has this option

That's a good idea greenblood. Make it a selectable option that members can choose which one they prefer.

That site you showed uses the layout on the side very well. I'm guessing that is what it will look like more when we get updates.

Good suggestion to shorten it up

Awesome! I can't wait to see how it looks after its changed

I think this is the ideal option if possible.

It is ok, I would take away the locations. It does make the post a lot bigger.

Sorry I took so long to get back to the postbit edit.. It's a holiday weekend isn't it :D

I've removed a bunch of the space and will add the mods back in this afternoon

Well, looks like there was a bit of an update though, as some of the space is gone. Can't wait to see what happens next. So far i think the postbit on the side is ok now that it doesn't elongate the post so much.

Either way looks good to me. IMO the only thing to worry about with the "side profile" format is the empty white space below short posts (as someone pointed out above... just look at this post!). The "top profile" format eliminates this problem.

The other way was fine, but it does look a little nicer now that some of the added space is gone.

I'm going to have to agree with chokaay here. A lot more short posts can be a fit into a more compact [and easier] reading space with the "top profile" format. This way looks much better than before, all compacted, but that space problem is still there - which I can understand [otherwise info would be cut off]

Hmm, I agree. I hate scrolling a lot and this increases scrolling. I will probably switch it back to the previous top profile format and include the same info. As far as the Zodiac signs go, I'm not sure I can change that... :(
