Cellphones: Sony Ericsson Gaming Chief Says PlayStation Phone Coming By "Christmas" - Gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/cellphones/sony-ericsson-gaming-chief-says-playstation-phone-coming-by-christmas-294296.php)
The Sony Ericsson gaming boss, Peter Ahnegard, said that a PlayStation-branded gaming phone would be coming by Christmas.
Even has pictures of the patent they filed. This, on top of their Cybershot and Walkman lines, would definitely cover almost every aspect for cellphones, the only thing now is maybe a Bravia line. Some mobile TV action? One can only hope.

I just wish it'll have hybrid hex-band HSDPA
no more band headache on 3G
the most ideal is: T-Mobile USA sells it!!!

I've heard you mention hybrid hex-band phones before. It sounds like a good idea. Have you heard of any in the works? If not, maybe Nokia or SE will listen and make one.

They should! And yes, T-Mobile USA should pick it up! I'm just wondering how it will look, especially with the way SE has been making their Walkman and Cybershot phones as of late, some sweet designs coming out of their labs!

Is the PSP software upgrade that's coming up? I know one of the things it will do is turn the PSP into a WiFi-VOIP phone.

Thats a little different than this. This is an actual handset by SE with Playstation branding, similar to their Cybershot or Walkman lines. I have heard about the update you're talking about as well though, and i can't wait for that. It's like, the next best thing until this comes out!

The image is just of the patent design, none of an actual handset. Here are the images though! Hope you can see em!

The drawing they decided to submit for the patent looks like a game where a passenger airline shoots at flying goombas attempting to attack a cell phone tower.

Yep, there are only a few i believe, with TV on the go options and things like that. I think its unique, that since Sony has a huge diversity in their products, they can offer a wide array of mobiles tailored to certain things, which gives the customer choices on what kind of phone they're looking for, wether its music, camera, tv, and now, games.
