The G1 is wack had my hopes up the AIM sucks Its totally different from the sidekick and blackberry it looks and works so cheesee…could have done way better and the browser is so slow and the battery dies our so quick. This phone sucks and to watch videos is slow and stops its just a hot mess…. I’m getting rid of the phone…

yes they say its an mp3 player and yes it is but you have to buy your music through amazon to buy the music you want to use it as an mp3 player…

far as the CONS for the G1 not to be able to play mp3 and they have the Amazon music store pre installed on the device dont make since . and in the spec it also states mp3 player. I am just going to wait until i get mines and then go from there

Check back on the page and read the reviewers update. Overheating was due to him using an older USB charger from one of his older phones not the standard pre-packaged charging cable. The “Stuttering and Lagging” was due to him being in an EDGE network area and not the intended 3G network. The “Memory Leak” was due to him downloading an application then walking into a No Service underground area which in contrast made his application faulty as it did not download correctly and the file went corrupt since it is a PRE-RELEASE TEST PHONE. The phone did not have the correct software to fix the problem or notify him so it leaked memory and slowed the phone down.

Most of those CONs can and will be improved with the open access of the phone, it doesnt take video but there is an application to install that changes that, im sure there will be one for the virtual keyboard, folder system and video playback…..thats the beauty of this phone
