Confirmed!! Motorola Sholes “MotoRoi” will arrive soon with T-Mobile 3G bands

By: t-marco January 22nd, 2010

Yes T-Mobile users, we had confirmed that the new Motorola device that just passed FCC few weeks ago carrying WCDMA AWS T-Mobile 3G bands (1700/2100) bands is the Motorola Sholes. Previously, Motorola in its website, leaked some information about the Sholes and Sholes Tablet hitting to T-Mobile USA.  Now, knowing that Motorola phone with ID IHDP56KC6 is the Sholes, we just have to wait until Motorola or either T-Mobile announces officially the Sholes. Rumors about a new Motorola Android hitting to TMO in March 10th are going around the net.

On the top right of the picture, you can see clearly the SHOLES name. (from FCC)

The new Motorola phone will features:

Quadband GSM/EDGE 850, 900, 1800 and 1900

MotoBLur

HSDPA/HSUPA up to 10.2 Mbps,

Standalone GPS

eCompas

Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR

WiFi b/g

Battery model BP6X /  SNN5843A /  1390 mAH (same as Droid and Cliq)

Yes T-Mo, brings us a new Moto Android phone but with 2.1 OS.!!

am i the only one who thinks motoblur is pointless? id love this phone with str8 up android 2.1

Yea, I thought motoblur was cool for about 2 seconds. It’s an innovative idea, especially with today’s social networking, so I’ll give it that, but with all the apps available for the same thing(s), all motoblur really does is drain data and battery usage. I don’t think anyone absolutely NEEDS to post their status updates to all of their sites all at once.

Why would it need a weird shape on the bottom. What do you think is under the hood to need that?

  4. cheap on January 24th, 2010 3:32 am

i think that's where the camera lens is?

  5. cheap on January 24th, 2010 4:19 pm

actually the weird shape is to account for the camera buttons on the top

Exhibit A: The above whoopsie from Motorola that at one point had the Sholes Tablet coming to T-Mobile USA. And Exhibit B: The below shot out of the FCC that apparently shows the Sholes Tablet using T'Mo's 3G bands. About the only thing missing now? An actual announcement from Motorola or T-Mobile. Stay tuned, folks. [via CellPhoneSignal] [...]

I don't think its useless. With all the features that it gives u. One thing is the remotely wipe your phone. (I know there is an app for that) but then again, I would trust moto's secure site and network over some dev's i barely know. This is one worry that I have with my g1 and I think will be good to have. I would've love to get the cliq but then again, its pretty much the same as the g1. this phone really changes games in terms of android with blur.
