Motorola MB501 Android phone

Yes, guys, Motorola is preparing a new Android phone MB501. This handset has a similar codename to the MB200 / MB300 which turned out to be the Motorola CLIQ and the DEXT. First we were thinking about this phone would be the Droid, but this phone only runs Android 1.5 cupcake, while the droid runs Android 2.0.  Maybe this is the Motorola Sholes or Tablet hitting to T-Mobile. What about the Devour? and the Motus?

Specifications after the jump.

According with Bluetooth.org, “Bluetooth enabled GSM smart phone brimming with rich user experience and connectivity to meet the life style of today’s active, connected and tech savvy consumer” and this phone is gonna be available in North and South America.

Here some Specifications we have gotten exclusively for the new Android phone from Motorola, the MB501:

Android 1.5 Cupcake

Screen Size : 320×480

Processor : MSM7200A 528MHz

Quadband GSM and capable for WCDMA

Keyboard : Qwerty

Bluetooth 2.0+EDR

Oh wow, yet another 528mhz phone with an outdated version of Android. The grandpappy of all Android, the G1, already does 1.6, yet these "brand new" devices that keep rolling out with yesterday's hardware, cookie cutter clones of each other really, are still running 1.5? Wtf guys, why are you wasting our time?

yes, i think this phone will stay to 1.5 android. not compatible with upgrades to 2.0, no java enable .. and other problems.. hope motorola change the specifications and get the phone better.

Another pos that T-Mobile will probably jump through hoops to get. Underpowered, outdated before it i even built. Where are the phones we all crave? This certainly isn't one of them. If they are smart, tmo will tell moto to shove this phone and bring us something at least equal or better than the droid.
